Activate Euclid's C-Finder after the quest?
Is it possible to activate the Euclid's C-Finder weapon, you buy from that little kid in Freeside, after you've done the lucky old sun quest?

Edit: I tried going back to HELIOS One after the quest and use the main frame to start with the Archimedes II option. when going back to the top of the tower, the scene where the three lasers start and end with a big boom did its roll. But then nothing else happend apart from losing NCR fame. Is there a way to re-do the quest by console commands?

Only if you chose the ARCHIMEDES option for power distribution. If not, the C-Finder will be the world's heaviest toy.
Anyway, that weapon is only good to try once, really. It's so weak it can barely kill a single deathclaw… if it can kill it at all. And despite being a friggin' satellite cannon, it scorches like 10 cm².

I still wonder why that thing is 15 damn pounds. How did that kid carry and wave it around so easily? What's it made of? Seriously.

This made me think. If i activated the Archimedes II and didn't buy the gun from that kid. He could blow that little girl (and freeside) skyhigh.

So little guy could literally "Reach for the sky"

I know it wont actually happen. But its pretty funny when u think about it

I think the devs wanted the gun to be heavy since it's more or less classified as a heavy weapon. But one of the earliest mods I found on the Nexus changed its weigth to 2 pounds or something like that.

I wouldn't reccomend choosing the Archimedes II option in the quest, better to get the 2 big books on science than a glorified grenade.

Yes, you can reset it, but don't be surprised if it will be bugged
resetquest e282d

The reason why the C-finder isn't working is because you need to specifically choose Archimedes II during the quest for power distribution. What you did is activate Archimedes I which kills all the NCR soldiers in the solar pannel yard, hence the reputation loss.

The only way to get the C-finder to work now is by resetting the quest through console but as said before this may cause some strange bugs.

I wonder is it possible to give yourself ARCHIMEDES II charges that the C-Finder can use? Or does the system have to actually be enabled through the quest for it to fire?

2. Fire away!
3. ???
4. Profit!

Very much possible although you'd still be limited to one shot a day, for some strange reason the way the weapon works is that you almost always get a charge the second you fire your previous one yet it can only be used after a 24-hour period.

Great idea indeed!

Using the commands is cheating for getting achievements, but if I use it just for getting unstuck from places or resetting/unbugging a quest, can i exit the game after and start where i left of with the achievements back on?

Yes, quitting and restarting the re-enables achievements.
