Rad REsistance

What's the best gear combo to get your RAD resistance up? Gonna be exploring vault 34 soon, and I know it's heavily irradiated, so figured I'd ask.

The Space Suit you find during the Come Fly with Me quest comes in handy. It has the same armour rating as Reinforced Leather and you can use ordinary Rad suits to repair it. And if IIRC, it has the same Rad resistance rating as the basic Rad suit, but not the Advanced one. The regular Rad suits are pretty useless as far as armour rating is concerned, so you'll probably get torn to pieces if you try to wear them. There's a Enclave Power Helmet to be found as well, though I forget where, that also increases your resistance. But you need to have Power Armour training in order to wear it. Just be sure the bring along lots of RadAway.

Don't even need gear.

Perks, lots of Radaway, and Rad-X is all you need.

you are really gonna want good armor for the 'residents' of the vault, just get a lot of rad-x and radaway. with a decent medicine skill you should be fine.

Hotkey Rad-X and it is usually enough. Depending on how long you mess around, a dozen or so should be enough.

Too bad the resistance cap is 85% or you could get 100% rad resist like the old games. This can be changed in a mod though.

Thank you guys. I managed to get the Rad Resistance Perk beforehand (Skill Based Perks mod), combined with space suit and some rad-x, it was fine. Now I happily have my All-American.

Now buy every single surplus 5.56mm and give it to boone. He becomes an unvincible killing machine.

Or you can be smart and buy Armor-Piercing 5.56mm.

Ehh, I was using a Service Rifle, and .45. The Service rifle was kinda low on repairs, but the .45 worked just fine.
