I've always wanted to play morrowind, The only problem is i've already played skyrim so it'll feel weird to play morrowind. But hopefully i can get past that. Does oblivion have the same rpg elements as morrowind?, Or is it dumbed down like skyrim?
Not to mention Level scaling that makes leveling up your character pointless.
Armors that were extremely rare in Morrowind are now found in abundance.
You just have to wait until level 20+ to see a comon bandit suddenly wearing Glass armor or a marauder wearing Deadric armor.
If you want to play a good Oblivion, get an OOO mod.
Oblivion splits the difference between Morrowind and Skyrim. There are fewer factions, quests and skills and the consequences of player actions are lesser. However, Oblivion still features character attributes, which were removed entirely in Skyrim. Oblivion is just part of the progression from complex to simple that Bethesda has been following since releasing Daggerfall in 1998.
I could dissect and compare Oblivion but its good entertainment like Skyrim but neither will be remembered 10 years from now while Morrowind and FNV will both continue to have a healthy fan base. So like I said regading die roll combat and dated graphics otherwise its a win-win game
for role playing in a huge and alien world.
Also, since I'm on the subject - the Morrowind Daedric shrines totally smoked the puny statues in Oblivion but the ancient Aldmeric (?) cities were fantastically good and memorable along with the Daedric towers and lava seas. N'uff said - I'd still choose Morrowind over its descendants, but Oblivion and the Shivering Isles DLC are in my opinion a far better experience than Skyrim (never liked the game enough to try the DLC).
Fallout 3 is as close as it gets, but it's not quite as good. Although, the camera zoom is better.
The Borderlands and Bioshock games have a similar style of crazy world. But they are super-consolized versions of Fallout. And they are first-person shooters. But who knows, you may have fun with them.
If it's dialogue choices you're after, Witcher III, Mass Effect III, and Dragon Age: Origins.
And Dragon Age: Inquisition Game of the Year Edition, if you get really desperate.
But these games don't have the environments, writing, or gameplay mechanics that you are looking for.
There is nothing like Fallout: New Vegas.
It's unique. Like the Mount & Blade games. That's why people like them.
tl;dr Morrowind's story and world just get better the more you learn about them. It gives the player the tools to enjoy the world and subsequently just leaves him or her in it. Morrowind is like a playground, whereas Skyrim is more like an amusement park. Highly recommended.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE NEW VEGAS
I've heard things about the original Deus Ex, but I've not personally played it.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Prey (2017)
