New Vegas crash on Startup (with tiny black screen in top left)
I have re-verified my INI files, re-installed New Vegas several times and redownloaded all my mods within Vortex (Vortex doesnt see any problem with my game), I have been told to look into Nvidia drivers but I recently updated them so I can't think of anything else, I just want to play NV with my Mods.

I have opened through the Vortex client, through my NVSE loader and through Steam, they all produce the same result, a windowed version will show the Bethesda/Obsidian Logo, then proceed to black screen and disappear with no crash report

Conflicting or missing ESM somewhere. Double check your plugins to make sure you don't have multiple versions of a single plugin. (IE: The Fomod installer breaking and installing several conflicting versions of a plugin.)

I have checked within my Vortex plugins, no duplicates within my load order

Not duplicates, Conflicting files. For instance a lighting plugin might have also added low medium, lo, dlc and non dlc versions. Is it possible to pull up your load order of esms?

Tiny black screen means the graphic engine cannot initialise. Something is preventing it.

The most common culprits are game boosters (Nvidia Experience), gaming applications with overlays (Overwolf), multi-display managers (DisplayLink), and Razer's Synapse software.
Also, if your font scaling is not set to 100% in Windows, that can also cause it.

Essentially, remove Experience and shut down all gaming-related programs and see if eventually, the game starts. For good measure, you can try to disable Steam overlay for New Vegas, although it is usually not required.

I have already disabled steam overlay and uninstalled Overwolf, I dont know what else could be causing this problem.

you want to see my plugin load order?

Complete List of Plugins with no conflicts: https://imgur.com/a/TLHD4pW

I don't see any conflict within my mod manager, guessing its a background process problem

Do you have some form of contact (Discord/Teamspeak) that I could troubleshoot with you on? it would be easier for you to help me that way

Right away I can see RUSSEL is installed but you don't have RUSSEL. THIS is one known issue right there. This is what I meant. As well as you have all the individual ADAM mods installed PLUS complete.. AND you have ALL the ILO modules installed.. You have conflicting mods and duplicates all over. >.<

Some mods will not run their installation menus properly and install ALL plugins. You need to pay special attention to each mod's page for details on which plugins are necessary and which aren't. Also seeing a lot of 'body type' mods but not actually seeing the core body files they need to refer to..

wouldn't Vortex/FNVEDIT tell me if those files were conflicting with each other?
talgaby Jul 28, 2019 @ 10:31pm
FNVEdit would. You mean you can load up FNVEdit and it actually loads all of these without an error?
Gatsu Jul 30, 2019 @ 7:59pm
I have decided to delete Vortex, NVSE, FNVEDIT, etc. and start fresh with my mods, it seems like I had an config setting issue that fixed itself after I switched over to NMM's latest, I will start a new discussion if I have any further issues, thank you guys.
