Comprehension Obsolete With DLC?
Ok, so now that we have an extra 20 levels, plus an extra 2-4 copies of each skill book, PLUS the skilled trait at creation (+5 all skills for -10% experience always), is there a point in still taking the comprehension perk? Yeah, skill magazines still give +20 instead of +10, but considering how easy it's become to level all of your skills, I imagine that one can get every skill to 100 before reaching 50 if they're good about getting skill books.

Any opinions on this?

I'm not sure if it's possible to max out everything... I remember reading something on the wiki about it, but it's been a while.
I never picked comprehension because I rarely use items that give temporary buffs in rpgs, though I was using these more in Fallout than in other games. I just prefer perks that give permanent bonuses.
However, it's still ok to get it I suppose, since it makes early game a little easier and prevents having to go back to places with hard locks or something.
The game is easy enough as it is, so I guess it's not that big of a deal to waste a perk on it :)

I maxed everything out on my last playthrough except like survival I think. I'd say educated is better if you're wanting to max everything.

I've always gotten both, educated at 4 and comprehension at 6. And by the time I hit 4, I'll have 10 int (I start with 9, then head to NV to break the bank at the Wrangler and get the implant).

I took Skilled and Goodnatured at the start and by level 50, I've maxed out all skills (Not like you really need to) without Comprehention or Educated. Of course I was bored and I actually calculated the skill books so to not "waste" skill points.

I genrelly don't bother trying to max out. I tend to play games like Fallout by placing some limts on each character. Thinks like what weapons I want them to use, only one type of armor, things like that, and I just build my perks and stats according to that.
With the vanilla game the player will max out every skill but one without skillsbooks. Thankfully the Sawyer mod rolls the level cap back to 35 (15 without DLC) which makes the game far more balanced.

And it lowers the distributable skills too, no? At least I vaguely remember something about needing 10 INT to get as many as you got with 6 in vanilla. But it has been years since I played vanilla, so I can be very, very wrong.

I know my next play through will be an Int 1 melee/explosives specialist. Maybe on hardcore. Just so I can finally see all the changes from being that intellectually bankrupt (with the Int implant bringing it to 2 eventually). Really give myself a handicap on skills then.

Might play a guy for once too, just to see how that changes things (like being dressed as a Powder Ganger while going up to NCRCF).

Pretty easy actually although my build had GRX. I can literally kill people five times before they touch the ground.
