How do you install NVAC?
Since the game is still crashing, im certain im doing something wrong.
So, there are 2 folders called 'fomod' and 'NVSE'. I first opened 'NVSE', then opened another folder inside there called 'Plugins', then copied the .dll file to plugins folder inside steamapps/Fallout new vegas.
And the folder called 'fomod'. Well, i simply copied the 2 files into Mods folder.

Read the creator's description and still have no idea. What am i doing wrong?

fallout new vegas\Data\NVSE\Plugins\nvac.dll
You don't need the fomod file.
talgaby Aug 16, 2014 @ 3:49am
Since it's an NVSE plugin, nvac.dll goes in your Data/NVSE/Plugins folder.
Reading the mod description page can work wonders, you know. Just saying.

Then there could be quite a few problems left. To even have a chance to identify them, the questions are:
  1. Where does it crash? Before main menu, clicking on Continue/new game in main menu, while loading, after loading, while playing?
  2. If while playing, then how frequently and where in the game world?
  3. Do you have more than one monitors/display devices?
  4. Do you use a laptop with IntelHD graphics?
  5. Do you use Raptr?
  6. Do you have sound in the main menu?
  7. Did you update NVSE to the latest one and use its loader?
  8. Do you have the 4GB enabler, and if yes, do you use the updated version?
  9. Does the Steam overlay message come up while the initial loading screens are playing?

Ok, sry for my bad attitude up there.
I use desktop, crashes randomly every 15 min, uses InterHD graphic, have sound, NVSE up to date, have 4GB enabler up to date, steam overlay message comes up.
Ima just give steam valindation a shot.

Yes, first, validate the game. It may fix it.

Then… IntelHD means laptop, no other devices hooked up…
I'm not going to post links, but you can search the Nexus, I'll give exact names.

First, get Stutter remover. It's an NVSE plusing like NVAC, so install the same way. When you put it into its directory, open the INI files it comes with and look for these:
bInject_iFPSClamp =
fMaximumFPS =
fMinimumFPS =
Set to 1; 30; 0 respectively. Then when you start the game and have the launcher open, go to the hardware config and disable Vsync. And yes, you wil be limited to console frame rate, 30 fps.
By this you eliminate some bottleneck that affects non-nvidia cards.

Next get Zan AutoPurge Crash Protector. It's an NVSE plugin that also requires MCM to work since you control it from within the game.
When you start up the game, go to the MCM options and look for the purge mod. Enable it if it's not enabled, and set everything to the lowest setting.
This mod will periodically (15-30 sec) purge everything from memory. It has a negative impact on frame rate but it will stabilise the fps on that lower value.

If the problem still persists, then you'll have to post a mod load order.

have you verified, in game, that NVSE is proprly installed and working, using the console to check it?
Shendul Jun 5, 2015 @ 7:14am
Am i the only person who does not have the NVSE folder in data?
I checked and the NVSE plugin is in fact working
talgaby Jun 5, 2015 @ 7:42am
Sometimes NVSE does not create it automatically. Just make the folder yourself.
Shendul Jun 5, 2015 @ 8:39am
Thanks mate, that's what i figured I just wanted to make sure it would actually work.
talgaby Jun 5, 2015 @ 10:12am
Yes, it would. NVSE loads all applicable plug-ins from that folder, whether the folder was created by the program or the user. This is how it was coded.

Im having this same problem. It crashes every time i start the game at the logo loading screens before the main menu, and while playing about every 30 minutes shortly after fast travelling or going through doors, but sometimes it is random. I have 2 monitors. No Raptr. I hear music at the loading screens, but my screen freezes. I have latest NVSE, NVAC, and FNV4GBE. Steam overlay comes up. I have a desktop with a GeForce GT 630, Intel Core i5-4430 CPU @ 3.00GHz, 8gb of ram. I have narrowed it down to two mods that are causing the game to not load correctly; A world of pain and Yukichigai Unofficial Patch. Without the mods enabled I can get to the main menu with no problem. I have tried many solutions already, but anything you have would be great.

If you are still having crashes after sorting out NVAC and NVSR, open the file located at "Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNV\Fallout_Default.ini" with notepad and add the following line of text under [General] (On a new line):

iNumHWThreads=2

- Run the games Launcher
- choose to edit the game options
- then click Okay to close out of it

This should drastically reduce the amount of intermittent crashing you encounter in the game. You can verify the change worked by running the game, quitting the game and looking at "My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\RendererInfo.txt", the last line should state:

HW Thread Count :2

Hm. Apart from restart, did anything change? Windows updates, driver updates, maybe installed and started a new Steam game?

NVSE folder apparently doesn't exist in my files. Help?
