Screen Color Issues
Alright I was playing Fallout New Vegas today. I'm very far into the game with Lonesome Road and the Endgame left. Anyway in the Divide around the Abandon caves my game glitched out. My screen is stuck with some kind of filter on it. During the day most skies are yellow, and at night everything turns black and white. Nothing has any color anymore. This is not tied to the in game efects tied to Forlorn Hope or around Nelson. It's stuck this way even when I enter my houses. Does anyone know any way of fixing this short of reloading an old save? Thank you very much.

Is there honestly no one out there that knows what causes this or how to fix it?

You have a permanent CatEye effect. Somehow you cna remove the spell but the best and most stable way is to revert to an earlier save.

I think it's tied to NPC using a nightvision drug. Maybe. It's some of the more obscure bugs that were never patched even by modders.

Was hoping for a solution since this happened to me as well at the exact same point in Lonesome Road.

Found a solution to this. I had to console in(or find) a riot helmet or any other helmet with sneak vision. I equipped this in a dark area to activate the sneak vision then removed it to remove the effect. Viola, colors back to normal. Hope this will help anyone else who experiences this problem.

I would like to echo that sentiment. If you are indoors and everything is black and white. Or outside in Novac and everything is yellow you have sneak vision stuck on you for some reason. I had reloaded an old save, but this information is extremely helpful. Just get a riot helmet, go inside, sneak, unsneak and you should be good.

Just want to thank you for recommending the riot helmet fix. Worked for me too! I was so worried I was going to have to backtrack so much to a previous load. Much much appreciated!

Another thanks for the riot helmet trick! Same problem for me, in lonesome road as soon as I touched foot on ground after going down Sunstone Tower. Which means riot helmets aren't far away.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
