Need some Help with the Console
I did try to research through the forums here and Google but I didn't find much.

Regarding "setav aggression", is there a way I can put it as a command on a NPC without having to click on said NPC? I can spawn a NPC but when clicking on said NPC when I bring up the console, it sometimes doesn't bring up the ID and such.

How can I make a NPC not responsive to combat? Using "setav aggression" does make NPCs not hostile but they usually flee.

When clicking on a npc you sometimes click on something between you two (like an ambient light source or some other visual effect). You have to use the mouse wheel to cycle through the objects where you clicked. The number at the top will change as you scroll. To find out which number is for the npc just use the inv command that lists all their items.

Yeah, tcai does work but NPCs were in "combat mode" where they would always stayed alert and couldn't be interacted with (in my case, I wanted to interact with NPCs like normal). I soon discovered "setav aggression 0" on each NPC that could go hostile worked fine, though it is tedious that I have to select each one that did.

I'll try the mouse wheel one when I get the chance.

Sometimes using the stopcombat command sometimes works too when they are selected if they are just mad at you for your actions to them and not your reputation.

If its because your reputation you can just use a command to make that better. Though there are some scripts that make some hostile no matter what if you went past a point of no return with a faction.

You can select an world object with the prid command, bu t you must know its reference ID.

Okay, I tried the mouse wheel thing while in the console and it sometimes works. If I'm lucky, I could roll to an NPC I desired to manipulate with the console.

Yep, "stopcombat" works but only on the NPC that targets me. If it's a fight between two NPCs and such, it doesn't seem to work unless I use "setav aggression 0".

I think I tried that but for some reason for me, trying to make specific NPCs stop fighting through their reference ID didn't work.

EDIT: Maybe there's a command to set an NPC's cowardice to zero or something to make said NPC not care about any combat whatsoever (like in Neil's case I think if you lead him up in that mountain where he doesn't fight at all) and not flee, but should it exist, I haven't found any info on that.

A better way is to reload from a save where you didn't have problem X. NPC aggression is also often unrelated to their actual aggression, and can be triggered by something that puts you in a 'hostile' faction, a script that prompts the reaction, period, a series of switches/points/whatever that you managed to trip...and so on. It's rare that a single console command magically fixes things.

True, I often had to reload earlier save files, ESPECIALLY when spawning NPCs that are normally hostile to each other. I soon discovered if I exit out of the console without changing the aggression values, they would fight each other when I didn't want to.

If you must know why I am spawning NPCs through the console, it's usually to make a video.

Look up the full command list for gamebryo. The easiest way to get critters to fight/not fight each other is to manually force stop combat, sort them into factions that are hostile/not hostile to each other as you please, then enable them again. Usually that works.

Been doing that. So far though, I haven't had much success in adding NPCs to certain factions as of yet.
