how do I minimize the game
Ive tried everything but cant seem to get my cursor off the game

There is no release hotkey. Try opening start menu, alt-tab or steam overlay

This feature is just missing. If overlay and alt-tab doesn't work you can only get back to desktop hitting escape and leaving the game completely.

Trying to minimize this game causes a CTD. Windows 10 machine. Windows 10 and this game don't get along.

It's not Win 10. It crashes on all Windows Releases when trying to minimize from fullscreen. Nothing special about it. A lot of games do.

I think he uses windowed mode. Otherwise attempting to minimize causes a ctd (at least on my system). Even by using ctrl-alt-del

Could it be some sort of mod conflict that causes your game to crash when being minimized? I have no trouble alt+tab'ing in and out what so ever as long as its paused first.

Did you pause the game, then try to hover your mouse away from the game? Try pressing the windows key first, then try to move your mouse. I also found this if nothing else works: http://www.itsamples.com/window-minimizer.html. There should be a third party window minimizer out there there forces any window to minimize.
