Does Tales from Two Wastelands mess with the difficulty?
I find Fallout 3 extremely hard even on easy in this mod. If yes is there a way to change that back to normal?

Not really, it just ports 3 into the NV engine/environment. I didn't find either game difficult, though.

First, you're much better off asking that kind of thing on the TTW discord.

Second, not to argue with you kdodds, but there is a bit of a shift in difficulty for FO3 content in TTW versus vanilla FO3.

TTW isn't really just a port anymore, the devs consider it a total conversion mod. To that end, it also rebalances both wastelands to an extent. One of the largest changes is that vanilla FO3 doesn't use DT, in favor of exclusively using DR.

NV reintroduced DT, and that also applies to FO3 content in TTW. Super Mutants especially become much more challenging unless you use appropriate ammo types (specifically, AP ammo).

That said, it's still not particularly *hard*. If you are having significant difficulty issues compared to vanilla FO3/NV, and you're already set to Easy skill, make sure you aren't running any additional mods that could be changing things.

Quite a few other mods can have knock-on effects that make things more difficult - certain parts of JIP LN like bCreatureSpreadFix can make enemies significantly more accurate. Make sure you haven't enabled anything you didn't mean to.

Not at all, we're in agreement. FO3 becomes FNV. FNV isn't difficult at all really. Maybe a few areas you should not go to early game, but that's about it. As long as you prudently retreat and "save that area for later", not hard. I think the problem here is more one of being accustomed to FO4 and Skyrim difficulty, both of which are way easier than FO3 or FNV.

Yeah, you have a point. One major difference though is that NV didn't scale enemy spawns to the player - that's one reason most of the game is so easy, even from level 1. FO3 spawns are leveled and get the added benefits of having DT with TTW. FO3 still isn't "hard", but especially SMs or other enemies that gained a ton of DT are significantly harder than vanilla.

That's one of the most frequent complaints I see, honestly. You can dump 100 rounds of regular 5.56 into a Brute in some situations in TTW. Using AP ammo solves it, but it wasn't as much of an issue in vanilla FO3.

Just to clarify as well, TTW is also a total conversion for NV, not just FO3 - upcoming 3.3 makes a lot of changes to both worlds, rebalances the economy, etc. Even 3.2.2 isn't vanilla NV at this point, and 3.3 is probably going to upset some people with how much is changed. 3.4 (years out) is planned to also make NV a leveling wasteland like DC is, so the TTW changes will be running very deep in both games as time goes on.

The only bit of difficulty I've noticed was when I first encountered Super Mutants. I was doing barely any damage. That was only because the 15dr they had in Fallout 3 is now 15dt in this mod. For the level and weapons I had when I first encountered them that was huge. The damage of two of the three weapons I was using was being reduced by 80% and my other weapon wasn't far off. That was a HUGE difference compared to before.

I just changed my weapon load out a little and started bringing ap rounds and they stopped being an issue straight away.

Yeah mutants are where most people notice it.

It's probably also pretty apparent post-Broken Steel when every leveled spawn is an albino radscorpion :D
