Did i do the battle of Nelson at a wrong moment?
I just came from boulder City after i helped the great Khans and the ncr to release the hostages for the ncr and gave the Khans a possibility to leave without fighting. Then the commander gave me a map marker to the nearby NRC base next to Nelson. There i got the long quest that started with finding some lost supplies, some other things and then take over Nelson and destroy the legion at nelson. I lost a ton of ammo and became hated by the legion. I know i will get assassins after my but because in an older save i helped some convicts to escape and the legion attacked me and i became villified and got ambushed at the scrapyard near Helios one. Was this the right choice to do early game?

Yes and no. Forlorn Hope is a great source of quest experience and NCR fame. Makes it easier to deal with the McCarran quests.
As for the Legion, well, you will have to learn to deal with them or to sneak away from them.

Sneaking is not option because my character is 15 on sneak. Luckily i have Ed-E and Boone who can help me.

Do the quest before confronting Benny. This way you can get the karma reset later.
