It does significantly more damage though, so you can do the math yourself.
Both the Sniper & the AM rifle are some of the most beautiful guns in the game.
But in my opinion, get the Anti-Materiel Rifle. If you have Gun Runners Arsenal installed, it would do a HELL of a lot of damage with one of the special .50 MG ammo types.
And by the way, that's how you spell it. "Materiel", not "Material".
If you're looking for a regular type of sniper rifle, there's the Gobi you can pick up for free, and if you have Old World Blues, you can get Christine's fantastic rifle for free. The latter is a silenced sniper rifle, which makes it very easy to get multiple sneak attack criticals.
I don't really care about sneak criticals, nor do I care about being sneaky in the slightest.
To be honest, I use a Cheat Terminal mod to get everything without having to kill anyone/buy anything, even though I have, like, a billion caps by now (which I also use the Cheat Terminal for)
Also, I use the console & God Mode a lot, so I really don't care about getting anything, more about staying alive.
Just mulch anything in your sights.
That does sound beautiful. REALLY beautiful.
From what I've read on Nukapedia, it HAS to be a sneak attack critical, otherwise, Kimball will live through the bullet.
Then again, I either use a Fat-Man (specifically an Esther) to rain death on Kimball & the NCR on the sniper's roost, or I use the Howitzer to shoot down the vertibird while it's still in the air, to make it quick, so I haven't tested that to see if it's true or not.
And even then, I don't really care about sniping people at long ranges. I usually like to use something up-close and personal, like a Lever-Action Shotgun, or a 9/10/12.2 MM Submachinegun, or the Nail Gun from the Honest Hearts DLC.
I don't know where you're going with any of this, but I'm out of time anyway.
By the way, it's a 12.7mm SMG, and the nail gun is from Lonesome Road.
I always confuse the nail gun's DLC location!
Anyways, I guess since you're "out of time", I guess I am too. I'll see ya later.
Anti-matierial Rifle- one of the best rifles in the game. unmoddable (unless you have Gun runners Aresnal i believe)
but 50. ammo is readdily avaliabe in Gun Runners Shop, so i prefer the AMR
hikm50, that's another reason why I love the AMR, because I have all DLCs (besides the "DLC" that was released recently that's actually something you can get online for free, which is the F:NV soundtrack).
I remember this because that saved my ass a few times in the lonesome road dlc(deathclaws are murder in that dlc).
I say if your end game and got the caps, may as well be killing in style and power.
