What are some good mods to make the game look modern
I tried igns mod order but it breaks the game and nevada skies crashes with itself

New Vegas Script Extender
4GB FNV (NVSE-Compatible Version)
FNV ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated
New Vegas Anti-Crash
FNV Stutter Remover
NMC's Texture Pack
OJO BUENO's HQ Texture Workshop
Neat Clutter Retextures
Wasteland Flora Overhaul (Dead Version)
Improved Heavy Weapons Textures
Weapon Retexture Project
Wasteland Clothing Hires Retexture
Fallout Character Overhaul
Ghouls Hires Retextures
Enhanced Blood Textures
Improved Robot Texture Pack
Securitron Hires Retextures
The Strip: Open
Nevada Skies (Ultimate Edition)
HQ Dust Storms
Interior Lighting Overhaul
ENBSeries (base .dll)
Blackout ENB Preset (Nevada Skies edition)

Do I need all these mods? Can't I just use a simple list. The enb and the character overhaul are the only things that really interest me. Well those and the texture packs.

you can also try the various Dragbody's mod NPC overhaul on gunetwork. The result is amazing (seems like the characters in the outer world)
The legion will rise, NCR ultimate overhaul etc..

Be careful with how many memory intensive mods you use. Try to stick to 2K and/or 1K textures as they look fine and cost less.

Anyways you might also want to look towards updating the animations of the game.

Either Asurah's Reanimation Pack[www.nexusmods.com] or Weapon Animation Replacer WAR[www.nexusmods.com] is a must for weapon animations. I personally use Asurahs.

Solid Project[www.nexusmods.com] is also a good mod to use. But as of me posting this its set to hidden. It adds sprinting, animated consumption/ chem use, and much more. If you use plan on using Project Nevada ensure you disable either PN or SP's sprinting & improved crosshairs features.

You could also look at the Fear and Loathing Guide[wiki.step-project.com]. It has a whole section on textures. Though I don't recommend following the whole guide if you aren't using MO.

That entire list will make the game look… good enough, but you will crash at every twenty steps due to memory overflow.

Keep in mind that this graphical engine is roughly 18 years old. Do not expect miracles from it, no matter how much you mod.

Every youtube video just breaks the game. Should i reinstall all the mods?

Delete the entire game manually, reinstall it, and apply mods one by one. Check if the game runs and loads a save file normally.

Essentially, go very, very, very slowly and methodically. That mod pack listed up there does actually work, but it needs a lot of patience and care.

Also, never forget that the game engine is old, so it needs some tweaks and fixes to run in an acceptable manner. This guide may look scary, but it is actually made for new players. As long as you know what an INI file is and how to use notepad, none of this is difficult to do:

Section 3 and 4 deal with stability and general fixes.
