Possible to play Tale of 2 Wastelands with existing NV game & mods?
I'm at lvl 21 in New Vegas and seriously enjoying this playthrough, but I just downloaded FO3 and am really wanting to combine these two amazing games and see what FO3 is like with the superior NV engine. I have been using Vortex to install my NV mods and after some initial performance issues I have the game running nicely, a little lag, especially indoors, but it's tolerable. My system is a new/refurbed Dell Optiplex 7010, Windows 7, Intel core i5-3550 @ 3.30 ghz. 8 g ram, 64 bit. I've been adding and subtracting mods for a while now, I've put some time into it, and now that i have it running good I'd like to keep them as is. I also don't want to restart my game.

Questions:
1) Can I install TOTW and keep my NV saved game? If so, how would it work? I wouldn't mind being overpowered at the start of FO3, I'm in it for the rpg immersion & exploration.

2) Can I install TOTW and keep my mods as they are?

3) Does TOTW cause lagging/performance issues?

4) Is there an installation video/post you can recommend for use with Vortex to accomplish what I'm trying to do? If there is a different mod manager I should use to make it work better, how do I switch to it from Vortex?

5) Anything else I should know before embarking on what sounds like paradise: the combination of two of my favorite games I'm now revisiting with the glory of modding.

Thank you in advance!

It probably won't work. Like 99% of all other mods that touch gameplay, you can't really load saves you made without the gameplay mods.

The only mods that are guaranteed to work are all made specifically to play nice with tale of two wastelands.

No.

There's a lot of stuff on their homepage.

It's a lot more work than people think getting it to work.

Cannot be done. Read the installation instructions on TTW site. Many of FNV mods are not compatible with TTW. As for Vortex I would ask your questions about that mod manager on the Vortex forum on Nexus.

1) Saved game, yes. Accessing the FO3 content with an existing FONV character, almost surely no. TTW supports FONV startup, but it barely works and always crashes with pre-existing characters.

2) If you use ModOrganizer 2 as your mod manager, yes. If not, then no, TTW is a mod that requires early installation. (As in, being first, usually.)

3) Yes. It roughly halves your performance.

4) TTW's own site has install instructions and it has an automated installer that created a FOMOD compatible with all installers except ModOrganizer 2 (you simply add the mod manually there).

5) Right now, TTW makes Old World Blues unplayable (the startup quest will hang forever, no fix still).
