Is it possible to fix the NCR Corruption?
One argument people make for Caesars Legion is that there's no greed or corruption. In a roleplay stance, would it be possible to fix the NCR leadership?

Saying Ceaser is not Greedy or Corrupt is pretty irrelevant in the face of, you know, being a completely domineering dictator who answers to no one and has complete authority to take anything his citizens own, including their body, under threat of extraordinarily painful and prolonged death.

Like, yeah, I guess he isn't, but that's because it's not technically possible to be "Greedy" or "Corrupt" in his position. The law of the land is that he *owns* everything.

Anyway: Technically any democratic can fix all its government problems every election cycle. The reality of the NCR is that it's probably plagued with the same problems as the real world U.S.

Nothing in game can be fixed, but depending on how you solved Cass' quest can lead to unvieling to public about NCR's corruption over it's caravans. It doesn't happen in the game though, it's more of a future issue.

The main issue with the NCR isn't the corruption. Every society has some form of corruption. Just because the US had events like Watergate or Teapot dome doesn't mean it should fall. NCR's come down to caravans being eliminated by competition and farmers basically having a majority of votes. It's an issue but considering this a post-apocalypse, greedy caravans and farmers isn't as bad as other problems.

The biggest problem with the NCR is overstretching. They have not enough people or firepower to protect the land they are taking over. However, in most cases you can solve these with quests. So in a way, you have the opportunity to get the NCR back on it's feet.

No. Corruption is an inherent part of the capitalist system, and it is impossible to rectify the corruption of the NCR in total during the course of New Vegas.

Should clarify. Corruption is a part of society regardless of system. Corruption is created by individuals within a system.

From roleplaying perspective, no. NCR is pretty much a permanent 1960s style US government. Corruption makes the whole thing work in the first place.

The only things you can do about it: Help Cass; an alliance between The Kings, NCR and Followers of the Apocalypse to help Freeside; support Captain Parker and Bert Gunnarsson at Aerotech Office Park. Those are some example of bringing justice, imo.

Most people who are corrupt are not in the game (Politicians and Brahmin Barons). President Kimball could be corrupt, maybe not. Heck Gunderson and Contreras deserve a punishment.

Don't presume you can speak for me. I meant what I said. Yes, it is true that no system will be 100% free from corruption, but it is an inevitable conclusion in capitalist societies—and in class societies in general. It is one of the mechanisms by which the ruling class maintains its power. Luckily, it also contributes to the degradation and eventual self-destruction of those societies. Well, luckily for the proletariat, anyway....

nobody makes that arguement.

Legion has taken everything from everyone. how is that not greed? I guess they are honest about it, because theres no real law theres no corruption. technically.

Legion is raiders and slavers organized for the better purpose of raiding and slaving and the associated slaves.

claiming theres no greed is mind numbing. its lawless so techincally no corruption, I'll give you that.

NCR is corrupt because otherwise there wouldn't be a GAME.

Yes the best way to 'fix' the corruption would be to manage an independant New Vegas that was willing to work with NCR so NCR can get its ♥♥♥♥ in order before making the appropriate offer to New vegas to annex them somewhere down the line.

theres corruption and theres corruption.

NCR is at the long end of a supply line so its troops are somewhat oddly supplied, manpower/weapons/and supplies being overstocked in some regions and understocked in others. whereas Legion is fully supplied with sharp sticks it uses to arm its troops.

Which is better? thats a FINE sharp stick you got there mr legion man. I am quite jealous, almost makes me want to give up this silenced sniper rifle.

also nice dress.

NCR allows female soldiers so its soldiers don't need to wear dresses to stop being lonely.

I don't see any evidence of corruption. NCR is over extended at the current time, its trying to take land it can't properly manage.

so independant New vegas is best for NCR at this point. it will create a buffer state between NCR and legion allowing NCR to solidify its holdings.

but its not about greedy or corruption, its about expanding too quickly and unable to properly rule the new holdings.

Again this is more of a supply issue. due to the extended supply lines NCR uses caravans like the Crimson caravan and the Van Graffs to supply their troops.

this makes the them rich and the ones at this end of the supply line have more opportunites for corruption. which they do, do.

Such activities would be stopped by having a land with solidified rule as the opportunities for corruption would decrease.

they weren't BRIBING officials to do corrupt acts, they were doing corrupt acts because there was nobody watching.
