accidentally overwrote a save
I started a new game and accidentally saved over my main which I spent around 50 hours on. Is there any way to recover it or is it gone for good?

Reload an autosave or previous save.

In documents my games falloutNV saves i think there is a BAK or back up copy??

Only quick and auto saves have backup files, so no.

Be sure to make a manual save at least every hour and use multiple slaves. You have several hundred slots to make saves.
