A Very Lightweight Mod List
Hello all,

I thought I might share my mod list. I played New Vegas a lot on XBOX 360, and the prospect of being able to mod NV was one of the biggest reasons I built a gaming PC. However, when I began modding New Vegas, I often over did it. This usually resulted in a buggy mess that was often unplayable. I would uninstall everything and give up for a few months. Then, I'd come back to the game, and the cycle would repeat itself. This time, I was very selective about what I installed, and I am very pleased with the result.

I'm sharing this list here, as it may help someone else trying to enjoy New Vegas again, but who might not know where to start, or who doesn't want to invest hours researching mods and compatibility. This post probably won't be useful for more experienced modders. With these mods, New Vegas looks great, has some extra content, and is pretty stable; I usually get 60 fps in most places, and rarely crash/freeze. I omitted NVSR and the 4GB patch because NVSR gave me nothing but issues regardless of configuration, and I only have 4GB of RAM right now (one stick went bad), so the 4GB patch wouldn't help me, but it might help you, so look into it.

When installing mods from the Nexus, always check the "files" page for any updates/compatibility patches that are relevant; several of these mods have update files that must also be downloaded and installed after the main file. Overwrite files when asked. Toggle archive invalidation on/off. Run LOOT at the end.

I wouldn't call something that contains two gigantic texture packs, FCO, *and* Nevada Skies with AWOP "lightweight". Those are enough to make the game crash on thousand-dollar PCs.

My PC runs it fine and I'm using an old GPU and 4GB of RAM.

Relative to the massive overhauls on YouTube and Reddit, I'd say this is pretty lightweight.
