Also, even though the inventory is bugged, the item list is still okay, so if you sell them, you will still get the correct amount of money for 'em.
I think I figured it out. Not a fix, but the possible cause of the seperation. The inventory seems to be automatically seperating the stolen items from owned. I figured it out because I had 3 pairs of Boxing gloves and one of them was stolen. The other two have been numbered together in my inventory once I got them fixed by Major Knight at the Mojave Outpost (he has a 100 repair skill) and the third pair of gloves that got seperated was the stolen one. It worked that way for the other items.
Hopefuly this information will help some modders figure out a fix. Because it turns out, it this bug still effects items that weren't stolen.
The difference is they had a permanent Icon indicating the stolen status.
Was probably considered unnecesary since FO3 and NV don't have an institutional crime system and NPCs only attempt to retrieve items they witness you stealing.
