I looked it over, I was a bit confused as I dont manually install mods, usually, should I use FOMM?
https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55061/
I use this mod and instead of random crashes every 15-30 minutes I can run the game for up to two hours, although occasionally it might crash after 45 minutes to an hour, but better to get 45 minutes get a quest or two done or explore and have to re-launch, than play for 5-15 minutes and not really get to do anything, and have to relaunch the game constantly!
No. The 4Gb patcher is actually very easy to install. It is downloaded as an executable so FOMM would not be able to install it. This is the one you should be using: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62552/
Simply place the 4gb patcher in your Fallout NV install directory and click it. It will automatically patch the Fallout nv.exe to make it large address aware.
tbh though the 4Gb patcher isn't necessary unless you are installing a ton of textures. It's essential for stuff like NMCs textures and Ojo Bueno because without it, Fallout NV only uses about 2gb of RAM/Video RAM, and those texture mods use far beyond that.
Are you using Windows 10?
If you are experiencing crashing with the stutter remover. Go to the Fallout NV install directory. Open the Data folder. Open NVSE, Open Plugins, then locate something that says: "sr_New_Vegas_Stutter_Remover.ini", open that and copy and paste these settings under the first section that says "Master":
bManageFPS = 1
bHookCriticalSections = 0
bHookLightCriticalSections = 0
bHookHashtables = 1
bReplaceHeap = 0
bReplaceGetTickCount = 1
bLogToConsole = 0
bFastExit = 1
bFlushLog = 1
iSchedulingResolution = 1
bReplaceRandom = 0
bExperimentalStuff = 0
iMainHookPoint = 1
These are the proper settings for Windows 10 users as heap replacement and various other options are broken.
Thanks a lot. This really helped me. From the usuall 5 loading screens and sudden crashes to an uninterupted sitting for over 2h.
