TTW mod - worth starting new character in NV or "transfer" FO3 one?
So im going to finish FO3 (playing thru TTW mod) and im about to go for NV (for the first time). Problem is, my current character is, well, God and if i take train to Mojave, im kinda afraid game will be piss easy and simply boring.
Any1 has experience with this and should i just start brand new newbie char?

i would start a new character, but its up to you, if you want just the narrative, your character is fine, tho if you want to play the game properly, youll want to start a new character

Start a new one. At least play that roughly 3-4 hours as a normal player character before you turn into a god here as well.

If you've got Project Nevada, just increase the difficulty (fairly, like not bullet sponge, but make it just as easy for them to kill you as it is for you to kill them) and put it on hardcore mode with needs.

I'm on my first playthrough of TTW too but for me, that's one of the key selling points (being able to play the same character).

FO3 I play with default PN settings as I feel there's a decent difficulty balance, but NV and FO4 are more fun on hardcore w/needs imo.

I think much of what makes you overpowered is the loot. It is one reason I like Project Nevada, but it also has other difficulty settings. A World of Pain is amazing to me, all the added content - between that, Inheritance and Russell the game is quite fresh. I still became overpowered but not until late.

What makes u OP are imho perks and skills. I could just throw away everything from Capital Wasteland, and still be OP with starting Varmin Rifle.

But then again, i started brand new character, went straight for Ratslayer and 1st recon baret and game is already easy. Hell, i dont even need body armor...

I don't see anything OP in the starting perks and skills, only those down the line. Again PN can fix that by increasing damage, lowering your health etc. If you're that tough with a varmant rifle and don't need armor, obviously a mod that increases difficulty would be in order, including some of the other ones mentioned.

I may have missed something here, but I'm pretty sure you can neither import a Fallout 3 character, nor use a pre-existing New Vegas one if you start TTW.

to answer the other part of the question. i would say its totally worth it to start over. there are plenty of ways to make the gameplay more interesting, even without mods.

EG. i had always played on normal withought hardcore mode on, now ive started playing on very hard using hardcore mode and while it is much more challenging, its still doable even for a casual gamer like me, better yet it feels like theres actually consequences for the things i chose to do, or where i choose to go, or how i choose to build my character.

you can also do specific RP/self imposed challenges. for example you could make an addict character where you would take every chem and/or alcohol item as soon as you get it, having to compensate for the constant withdrawl would make gameplay pretty interesting i imagine. you could also choose to play only using a certain low tier weapon, i knew a guy who had a FO3 char he called "John The Face Hitter" he'd walk around in a jumpsuit with a baseball bat looking like Dale Gribble and would wreck super mutants days cause he only put points in the melee skill till it was maxed.

mods can offer alot of diversity as well, not just with game mechanics etc... but new locations. theres a mod id be really interested in trying (i seriously doubt its compatible with TTW though) that turns New Vegas into a Riddick rpg.

In TTW, u can move between Capital and Mojave by the train. You can start in Capital and play FO3 and then move to Mojave and continue with your character in NV (or just go to Mojave for implants/some items and get back to Capital).

Unless you've played with a mod to drastically slow down leveling (which I reccommend - bein an unstoppable powerhouse who can do anything takes the fun out of either game about halfway through them) then you should just start over.

I like to have PN Rebalance and set all the XP gains to half or less - it makes a lot of place real no-go areas unless you really pay attention to what's going on around you. No more running headlong without worrying about anything except running into a mine.

But I'd reccommend that even if you weren't playing TTW.
