Suddenly crashing if in Fullscreen?

Been playing FA:NV for a long time and never had this issue.

Wanted to play the game after a longer break I took but it instanly crashed when I launched it and displays an error msg that reads: "Failed to initialize Renderer. Unknown Error creating the Gamebryo Renderer." once you try to click on the black screen..

If launched in windowed (no matter what settings) it runs perfectly fine but either doesnt't diplay the games window properly so that a part of it is inside Widows' toolbar or doesn't fill the whole screen when the res is too low.

Didnt change anything with my mods for months now (back then it worked perfectly fine) and tried reinstalling several times as well as deleting .ini files and so on (classic troubleshooting stuff). The game, the mods, my drivers and Windows are all updated to their newest version.

Anyone got the same problem randomly appearing in the past few months(?) or so?

Just stick to windowed mode (it is more stable anyway) and use one of these for fake fullscreen:

For me, it only crashes when you use the max resolution, I just use a lower resolution.
