advrcntr3.dll problem ?!?!

"This program requires the file advrcntr3.dll which was not found on this system"
is a screen that comes up whenever i pretty much try to do anything in fallout new vegas. With mods running, without mods running. whatever I do I get this. It opens up as a secondary windows error window from the game itself, but, it says Nero on it. Nero the CD burning program.

I have uninstalled nero ages ago and I have no idea why this is happening with this game. Makes no sense whatsoever. Does anyone here have any idea what i can do?

Oh, the what, decade-old Nero problem. What a piece of utter crap Nero was…
At any rate, short of a full and total system reinstall, your only bet is praying you can find the DLL on a site that is not packing it full of malware, and dropping it in the system32 folder.
Keep in mind that after you do that, the old service associated with Nero may still prevent you from starting this game altogether, because Nero was just that bad.

Well. thanks for your help anyway. Maybe I will reinstall it after I format my system later on.

And if you will need a DVD burner, just use ImgBurn or CDBurnerXP for data and WinX DVD Author for films.
