Is this game more stable on GOG?
I already own it on Steam, but I am wondering if it is worth rebuying it on GOG. Frankly, the only deciding factor would be if the game is more stable.

Arguably, the Steam and the GOG version act the same. At least for me. But, if you feel more comfortable getting the GOG version, then go ahead.

Why would it be?

The GOG version is pre-patched to use 4gb ram but you can do the same thing using Roy Batty's FNV 4GB Patcher for the Steam version.

If you want to try avoiding the step of adding some stability mods, get the GOG version (bundled mods don't always fix every issue, requiring further modding.)

If you don't mind modding the game because you're going to mod it further anyway, the Steam version won't be an issue for you (some hardware setups don't require any stability modding so you can test it mod-free first.)

The GOG version is also DRM free. I've never had an issue with Fallout NV on Steam, but some people have reported that Steam's DRM has caused problems for them.

Depends a bit on the computer you are running on. For the most part, the GOG version is as stable as running the Steam edition with the 4GB patch and with the Steam overlay turned off.

Still, as it was said, the Steam DRM itself *can* be a cause of instability and incompatibility in games, so, in general, the GOG/Humble DRM-free editions of games tend to be more safer and stable.

This game isn't more stable on either version of the game, and was pretty broken at launch.
Buy either one.
