Stuttering When Turning Camera
Title basically says it all. Game loads quick, runs quick, no crashes or bugs.

But for the life of me I can't get the camera stutter to go away. No mouse lag, no frame rate issues aside from turning, no crashing.

specs:

Win10
Radeon RX570 8gb
msi x570 mobo
Ryzen 5 3600
16gb ram
Crucial mx500 1tb SSD

So far I've tried almost every fix I've come across. I have NVSE, 4gb patch, stutter remover, tick. I've tried adjust hz down to 60 on output/display, I've editted the FPSclamp in all configs to 60. I've tried just using one of the two mods, fiddled with graphics card settings, tried using/not using freesync, using/not using anti-aliasing, used both freesync/AA, setting target frame rate to 60. And aside from these performance enhancing mods... the game is completely vanilla.

I'm uhh, at a loss right now. I sincerely do not know what I'm doing wrong.

If anyone has any suggestions, thank you in advance.

Havok is a big culprit, but the scripting engine borks as well. You can see actors stuttering in place or just running around like idiots a lot more over 60 fps.

no why would lock fps to 60 .. some of us have 165 hz - 240 hz monitor not 60 hz monitors from 1998

fps clamp changes the performance night and day, don't knock it if you don't try it. You act like i come here to sabotage your gaming experience or something loll. You showed me! Don't use the tweak then einstein.

FNV drops below 60fps in some areas no matter what, no matter how high of a refresh rate your monitor has

I had a 144hz monitor once, absolute garbage. It means you have a TN panel. TN panels have terrible colors. And horrible ghosting. Not to mention the only game (of thousands that i own) that was able to maintain 144fps consistently to match the 144hz refresh rate was battlefield3/4. I returned it after about a year its just impractical and it made the image look blurry when i turned

Here is the monitor i returned (ASUS VG248QE 144hz 1ms response time) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vJzsZHXMUQ&t=287s

Here is the monitor i have now

You couldn't pay me to go back to that ugly 144hz monitor. I could write a book on how impractical it is to own one.

Plus a player with a 60hz monitor, with the fps clamped, and vsync on. Is going to have a smoother more enjoyable experience than you because the frames are being buffered and paced

and playing games with unlocked framerate and vsync off leads to a jittery, broken, screen tearing experience. Vsync and fps locking is not the same. And clamp is something else entirely that ive only seen in bethesda games.
>panel technology hasn't improved in six years

:cleanseal:

aintchu at least ever heard of a lil thing called "freesync" or "gsync"

Wish i was as smart as you!

gsync is just vsync off with no screen tearing. But the frames are not being paced or buffered in any way. So a user with 60fps vsync is going to have a smoother experience than you

when you have microstutter issues in ANY games, play around with all the following things until you fix it
-Windowed/fullscreen/borderless windowed mode
-Vsync OFF, Vsync on, vsync off in-game but forced on in nvidia control panel
-Max frames ahead for fallout new vegas in nvidia control panel (try 1, 3 is default)
-Prefer maximum performance in nvidia control panel

forcing a game into windowed mode ignores the games vsync/refresh rate system and uses windows instead. Try that see if it fixes it

run in a straight line to load in assets from the approaching cells outside if you can't run in a straight line without freeze up for a few secs then its a texture loading issue, which should be the case as I figured it was due to me not having enough vram 2GB so I reduced my textures to 1024x1024, but if your using 2-4k textures that could be the reasons but with 8GB vram on a graphics card I highly doubt thats the reason unless its a system limit where the game can only use 4GB VRRAM 4K textures may be to much period in a 32bit game.

yeah if you install NMC texture pack medium sized, the game will lock up and crash if you do not use the 4gb patch

i would download NMC low resolution texture pack, they honestly dont look any lower quality

I use Ordenador.exe which can be downloaded from nexus under morrowind likely...

It will pull up a list of check boxes & you can pick the following...

Check Textures...
Check If No Mask (DX1Tc)
Check If Mask is 1bit (DXT5)
Check If Mask is translucy (DXT5)
Check Delete Any Unnexessaries
Check Mipmaps Reburn Forced
Check Resize (16x16)
Check Resize Down (>2048=4K to 2K) Repeat Once More At(>1024 2K to 1K)
1080x1920 is technically 1K but for the sake of conceptualization think of as K.

1024x1024 is bad its not quite FHD 1080p but still better than 720p sort of.
2048 is about the same as the width of 1920 on 1K just double 2K height.
You can get away with 2048x2048 textures size on 1440 at half the width.
Its not as good as Full 2K but its in terms of what the game can handle.

ive used texture optimizer before, it works fine on its default settings i dont think you are supposed to go messing with all those options unless you are some sort of scientist

No those are the recommended settings to no hard is really done & it creates a backup just in case.

At this point, I've basically given up. After all the mods/patches/config tweaking, I've reduced the amount of stutter, but it's still there.

It's playable, doesn't effect gameplay too much, but it's definitely still there.

oh well :/
personally i've found the most success with this config for nvsr (on windows 10) https://pastebin.com/SWSqKBPj

and this for onetweak (unnecessary, strictly, but convenient to my mind) https://pastebin.com/7M2jtbAs

but as always ymmv
Exvalcore Aug 18, 2019 @ 3:58pm
Well even my game stutters from moving from one cell to another but just barely I chalk it up to a minor fps dip & bugs likely caused by my modding, if only there was a magic bullet like sitting in a Deep Freeze untill F04's Tale of Threes Wastelands is ready for use.

nvsr is not reccomended for use with win10, i was wondering what was making my game crash constantly and it was new vegas stutter remover

On the NVSR nexus there is even a disclaimer that says to download something else, tick fix or something

vanilla nvsr is not recommended for windows 10. people willing to put the time and effort (i.e copy somebody else's working config) into getting it to work have it work fine, like I do. no guarantees it'll work for anyone else, like i said.
