If vanilla (no mods), I just stick with using Easy Pete's pad in Goodsprings. Plenty of persistent containers, a bed, and close proximity to a workbench, reloading bench, campfire, and fresh water.

With no DLC, Novac, since it is close to the middle of the map.
With DLC, the Sink, no contest.
With mods… well, whichever you like.

Starter : Saloon's backside bus, with free bed. Near spawning point when fast travel, craft bench and store and food source.
Mid Game : Novac or Lucky 38
Late Game : A f ckin portable Bed Roll or Random sleep-able bed.

The SINK may be the best in function and comfort-ability but it feel too much and small for me.

I found some player house mods that pretty good taste and better that that. Fancy or Ruined, you name it.

1. Bella Bunker. I personally use this mod as my charm. a companion with free bunker, good design and bonus gear. Companion friendly and i really love to live there.
2. A mod that redesign Novac apartment in to a whole new level of house, with TV that running Tom&Jerry show lol. This may be too fancy for me tho.
3. Air ship home at 188 point. Climb up to the basement level and open the ceiling hatch to the living level. Pretty nice decoration but sadly you cannot fly it to anywhere.

This mod impresses me so.
The attention to detail and the sense that you really are trailer trash...well. I mean, your lifestyle is... in the post-apoc world. There's much RP potential with it as well, being mobile and all.

I would say the 188 Trading Post.

There are a bunch of vacant caravans scattered along the road that have suitcases that you can store stuff in, and it's close to a range of traders above, outside, and underneath the overpass. Along with this, it is generally pretty safe as it is pretty far away from hostile people (unless you're doing a Legion playthrough) and any desert creatures, and is generally well-defended by the NCR.

I tend to just stick with Novac since you can get it so early, and so cheaply. By the time I get around to the Sink, I have been using Novac for too long, and am too lazy to move all my stuff (I am a major pack rat, so I have a ton of junk in my home, and I take the time to sort it some what, so it is a big deal to move it all). Novac is also just faster to get to since I just need to fast travel and then go inside once. Places with better extras tend to have a ton of loading screens, and that eats up too much time since I return often.
