Difficulty!!
I completed this game on Normal with Hardcore enabled and still was kinda too easy. Even after mazbe half of the game I had so much gear and caps so I became kinda like Terminator. But its all about post-apocalypse and so on, isnt it?.. I even had no problems with skills upgrade. First I was upgrading oonly few but then I had almost everything on 100!.. SO...
I need help. Shall I increase difficulty and what it does? can it help?

Get the jsawyer mod. Made by the main developer Joshua Sawyer meant to be a directors cut of the game, reduces carry weight, reduces starting max hp, changes needs meters in hardcore, redistributes the couriers stash items to places in game that make sense, etc.

Makes the game harder for sure.

Thank you for reply, mate.
Okay, I will google about this Mod. Also I wand to admit that I tried Project Nevada Core Module (because of visors and grenade hot key). There are aso implants module, rebalance module and armor mdoule BUT i refused to install it because I want play still original NV, modded but still Action-RPG game. I think rebalance module changes too much... And implants module turn Fallout in kinda Deus Ex... So I think its enough original implants in the game (Mojave Clinic + Big Empty).
But as you said this mod of Joshua Sawyer can help me. So then I should use it instead of just increasing difficulty?.. And about courier's stash, tribal pack and gunslinger arsenal - I dont get it, where all this iteams will be located then? I even was thinking to turn ON only one of this DLC to make game more balance. Otherwise you have too much of everything just in the beginning.

Project Nevada all modules besides the rebalance are compatable with jsawyer. And while they add new things, they also make some things harder. For example the implants adds a bunch of implants you can equip in various slots, but it also makes the implants you get from the Vegas clinic into the same type of upgrades so you can't get all of those as well as the new implants in the mod.

As for the courier stash, the jsawyer mod puts each pack in a certain location, like for example the vault 13 pack with the armour and water can is put in the crashed highywayman location (same car from fallout 2 and the vault armour and water can is also from fallout 2).

And difficulty is hard to say it depends in how you play. The jsawyer mod might be enough but if not just upping to hard or very hard will add that little bit of extra difficulty you may want.

The mods are a good idea but why complain about difficulty when you haven't even tried the hardest setting?

first; I would know what they adding into the game. Even if it will be more difficult to kill enemies and so on - still, all this gear andcaps, it is so easy to find and sell... At least, maybe hardcore+hard mode will demand using more of ammo and steampacks and that is where I will be needed to spend all this caps and gear...

I was thinking the same. I will try it)) Thanks

The game is not designed to be a shooter and the player character is significantly stronger than any enemy. Game design issue/oversight.
If you really think combat is the important or interesting aspect of New Vegas (it is not, but whatever), then you need to mod the game for challenge, since the difficulty slider only multiplies enemy HP, nothing more. Get things like JSawyer mod, AWOP, MoMod, and Increased Wasteland Spawns, if you want combat challenge.

Actually Followers break the Game Difficulty. No matter what Difficulty you play on, your Companions will always have the same Damage and HP Boost as the other NPC's (iirc 200% on very Hard) which makes them overpowered. The other thing is that you get way too much XP and become very fast, very strong. If you want some challenge use a slower levelling mod and play on Hardcore with the highest difficulty and without followers. But if you know the Game well, maybe even that is not enough.

I like combat and gameplay and I also love RPG elements. Im not big shooter fan, thought. But I want challange in game and there is kinda strange sense... If I just completed bunch of side quest and 1 or 2 DLC and Im already kinda overpowered. Caps, gear... I even dont need to craft weapons and stuff. Why? I can buy as much ammo as I need. And keep buying it. Then just go and kill Legion assassins or whatever, then sell all their gear and so on. LoL Combat is too difficult or I have lack of steampcks? Whatever. If I have high luck, I just will go to some casino and will make as much money as possible to be kicked out from there.
Im not too hardcore player, but when I just comleted 1 DLC, and even before it, I had more than 1 thousand of caps, probably around 1,5 thousands, a lot of gear which I could sell and get more caps... And just imagine if I will go to some casino with 15000-2000 of caps and high luck?
Yeah, I like when Im getting badass but not too fast. But on the otherway, if level up will be too slow, I can finish game without reaching maximal level and discovering all perks...
Also after a lot of quests and all 4 DLCs battle for Hoover Dam was TOO easy for me. I had almost no resistance from Legion (+Remnants helped me). I also avoided fight with NCR using Stealth-boy when I needed to power-up bunker with securotrons. Then I went to Legion Camp... The camp was almost empty already. I guess it was boomers work because I saw bomber in the sky, wiping out poor Legion forces (maybe Great Khans suicidal attack helped too, Idk). Cannibal Johnson was with me when we entered the camp. Well he died from Lanius sword, but Lanius was turned to ashes because of bunch of mininukes. And Its I even havent used half of my ammo and weapons which I took for this mission.
It was hardcore+normal mode. SO...

Pretty sure it only changes the multipliers on how much damage you do and how much damage enemies do, at least that's how it is in Skyrim. Normal should have a 1:1 ratio, but that's "balanced" out by the dumb enemy AI and how crazy overpowered the main character can become.
exactly. Fallout 1-2 are pretty different games. Im playing Fallout 2 now. its not like FNV.

Just gonna note too that the jsawyer mod lowers the level cap to 35 from 50, but also lowers some perk level requirements and lowers some exp gain so typically you a reach level 35 by around endgame the same time you'd reach 50 regularly. Makes you take longer to become a God

Yeah, but I also dont like when AI is powerful just because AI receiving less damage from me and Im receiving more damage and so on. Its better when game-design and level-design give you challange.
Also its game about post-nuclear apocalypse. Even its passed 2 centuries after it... But when you have so good gear so you can even kill Ceasar without much problems in the middle of the game... Like I said - 1-2 DLC and that is it. You are badass.

I use a 8x Damage Multiplier mod and it makes it pretty fun haha. Basically makes it so you kill enemies in a few shots and they kill you in a few shots. It makes the bosses super easy tho

I just read full list of changes. Well, it looks good and much more challanging. It must best the thing I need.
Project Nevada is good in it's core module. I already tried it. Visors are pretty nice thing. It gives you not just tactical advantages which must be given when you have such good armor like power armor or ranger armor, it also makes you feel that you are wearing armor and so on. Plus that moment from intro, when NCR ranger is shootting fient in the head, shows that visors are lore friendly. I also like grenade hotkey. Im not against using pip-boy for switching weapons but still switching just to throw 1-2 single grenades is kinda... Not player-friendly.
BUT this sprint, bullet-time and possibility to push someone from the clif are kinda too shooter like. Specially bullet-time, because I prefer to use VATS. Its like tatical pause and I find its pretty logical for action-RPG game.
