Does Fallout NV Ultimate Edition come as 4G?
Modding on Fallout New Vegas is seemingly becoming a vicious circle in my persuit to get these old mods running.

From being told to get the New Vegas Script Extender and using that to start up my game instead of the orginal startup. I've also been told to download the Fallout NV 4G Mod and use that to start up my game instead of the ladder. Problem is, the script extender seems to be recommanded for the heavy mods but so is the 4G memory mod. But I can't seem to find the answer as to how to run both at the same time. I was told that the www.GoG.com version of Fallout NV Ultimate Edition came as a 4G. Can the same be said for Valve's Ultimate Edition?

I have some other concerns aswell. In fallout 4. I had to script my .Ini files to activate mods on Nexus Mod Manager. ....Buuut in no tutorial does it ask me to do this for Fallout New Vegas? Is it not needed to activate New vegas mods?

Another concern being the Fallout Mod Manager which I was also recommended to download. I have no idea how to use it, and furthermore - all the recent comments (2016-2017) seem to be complaints about compatibility issues with the new Windows OS and New Nexus Mod Manager. And it would appear that the orginal authors stopped updating their mods and or never bothered to make a new one. All the tutorials are using older operating systerms and programs that all need to get patched... Sooo for a guy who is trying to use old mods on an old game on all new programs and systems.. I'm kind of left in the dark how to get this all to work.

I'm mostly concerned about the 4G though.

FNV 4GB should automatically load the script extender

There has been a few comments that it won't anymore. I can't seem to find a tutorial that get's in-depth on how this process works either. Is there a plug-in I need? Do I need to extract the 4g files into the SteamApps Fallout New Vegas?

just get a mod that says it requires nvse (like Project Lazarus or something) and it'll tell you when you load a save if it needs a newer version of NVSE (hence NVSE isn't working) or nothing will pop up and you'll be a-ok

well, go to the mod-page and read the description. (not just click&run)

it's really easy. it was my first "mod" for fnv. this, yup and the stutter remover,... they work. (x360 had less bugs^^)

The latest 4GB mod ensures that the game itself always runs as LAA. The script extender naturally works with it.
FOMM itself is outdated. If you want to use it, get the FOMM fork instead. Or learn how this engine works and use ModOrganizer.
FO4 only needs INI editing because Bethesda designed it to be used with paid mods. New Vegas uses the old engine, which is by default made to expect additional content and cannot distinguish between official add-ons (DLCs) and user-made mods.

Xbox 360 might be more stable to start with, but you can't do a full play through with all dlcs because the game becomes so choppy and freeze up that you have to restart the system every 10 minutes in order to keep playing. It gets that bad. Last time I played on console I did 2 of the dlc and the game would no longer run for more than 10 minutes after that.

i had 1 or 2 -noticeable- bugs and a few freezes at the beginning, but there were no issues after an early patch (before all dlcs came out) i played hundreds of hours on 360 without real problems. f3 was aweful compared to fnv. last time i've played it was in the month before f4 launched, and i hadn't noticed a single bug (besides of some graphical npc bugs), but more bugs in f3.

Ugh.... I'm literally going through hell with this. The current version of Fallout 4G is not supported with the current NVSE. And there was video's explaining this. So I was told to go to the NVSE web page and there was a link to the version that worked. I downloaded that version (with WinRAR not 7bit) and moved the files to my Fallout NV Data on Steam Apps in the program files 87.

Sooooo, I clicked on it in the apps as instructed... Only it didn't patch my game but instead opened up fallout NV through the 4G start instead of the script extender start... I clicked out of it, tried starting up the game with the script extender and now my game's currupted. The 4G start is also currupted and now I uninstalled the game and have to reinstall again.

What exactly is going wrong?

And to answer my own question. No fallout NV on steam does not come as 4G -.-

Actually, a better question. Is there something about the Steam Fallout NV Ultimate addition that does not allow this 4G Patch to run?

No
The 4GB Patch automatically loads NVSE

I don't know... I got the game running with the 4G installed today. So I did install it correctly. As soon as it was installed I put the mods back in and the game started crashing again before the loading screen even opened.....

Sigh... I've spent like 4 days trying to get this to work... Guess I will just stick to the NVSE and less memory-heavy mods. Clearly it's something in that department that is crashing the loading screen. :C

I just don't know what is going on. I reinstall the game. It works. I reinstall NVSE. It still works. I put the 4G patch in the same folder as my NVSE files and patch it. Stops working. : |

Get the GOG version then. It uses 4GB by default.
