Legion's Assassins are being annoying
im trying to complete the "back in your own backyard" campaign, but every time i pass the checkpoint, a bunch of legion's assassins come up behind me, and i have to fast travel out of there. is there any way to avoid this? or if not, which guns would be the best? im currently a level 9.

If you know they're about to come, just go somewhere else where they won't interfere with your quest there. Another spawn point for them is at that abandoned farm you passed along the way, the one where the Legion soldiers try to ambush the caravans. As for weapons, a Grenade Rifle works well against them while they're still fairly distant from you. I can usually take out 2 or 3 three of them before anyone reaches me.

Legion assassins only show up if you make enemies of the Legion. This'll continue until shortly after you reach the New Vegas Strip for the first time.

Lay a bunch of landmines and run backward.

IIRC you can safely run forwards while dropping them as they take a second to arm. Either way the important thing is to run in a straight line while dropping them as the stupid AI will head straight for your current location no matter how many mines they step on.

Have you gotten a gernade launcher. ♥♥♥♥ em up using that. That's how I got past like seven legion assassin parties when I was level 10 traveling to New Vegas. And got a ♥♥♥♥ ton of good weapons.

Why do you even have Legion assassins on you at such a low level? With normal levelling, that means you are still at the very start of the game, you should not have even met too much of the Legion to make them hate you this much. Heck, with proper playing, they should not hate you until the last parts of the last act; people just like to antagonise them because mid/high level assassins carry good gear to sell.

Quick! Throw some more men at it! Hopefully they'll drown in all the blood!
Uhh, yeah. No matter what, if you have a bad rep with the Legion, you're gonna get hunted down.
I guess Caesar is like Hillary, he doesn't want people who could affect his rule against the Mojave.
Even on level 1.

Please leave politics out of discussions about games. They have no place here, and are in fact against forum rules.

I suggest helping the NCR more, after a certain affection gain, An NCR Ranger will come up to you and give you a radio. Use that radio to call in NCR troopers to aid you when you see the legion assassins running at you from a distance. I think it's the only safe way to deal with assassins, cause the more you kill the more they come. You basically give them reason to send more just for standing your ground. With Project Nevada, You can choose the type of support to come to your aid*

No, it's not going to make any difference. Once they start coming after you, the frequency doesn't change just because you kill more of them. It's a fixed interval, and you also have pass certain points on the map for them to appear.

As for the NCR support, that's pretty much useless. I tried it once when I saw the assassins head my way, and by the time the single Trooper arrived the battle was already over. I never bothered with it again after that.

If your reputation with Caesar's Legion is Vilified, and the player is at a high level, assassins appear more frequently (about one group every day, attacking the player).
-Straight from the wiki-
You are so full of sh*t m8 lol
