Most unique build you've played?
Most people tend to play a gun-totting diplomat, but what is the most unique build you've played that you don't think most people play?

To date, the most fun I've had has been a drugged psycho build. Explosives, Melee Weapons, Science (to craft drugs). This dude is crazy fun. 100% dependency on chems and a full on "get up in your face" psycho raider, and if melee won't work, you can always blow em up. My last playthrough with this build, I was pretty much chaotic evil. Just causing as much chaos as possible and doing any quest for caps to afford new drugs. It's not a "nice" build in terms of roleplaying, but it's just straight fun.

Inspiration came from the Mad Max Fury Road, "war boys" and how they seem to have a penchant for explosions and melee weapons...and you'd think they were on drugs too. WITNESS ME!

Anyone else have some unique builds?

The most original thought I've had was a high-science brainiac. Otherwise, I'm always a soldier/grunt type. I'm just not that imaginative.

My favourite build was grognak the barbarian. He was a tribal born into the tribe of the red knuckles in the Kansas area. The red knuckles have a holy book that recounts the historical events of a hero called grognak the barbarian.
Every generation a new chosen one is born and given the name grognak the barbarian if he passes his initiation rite.

The initiation rite is to go unarmed into a deathclaws den and bring back the heart of the mother.

Once completed he earns the full name of grognak the barbarian and is sent out into the wastes to destroy any monsters that plague the earth.

When grognak was doing his initiation rite, his tribe was approached by power armoured soldiers who heard rumours that the red knuckles hoarded technology in their secret chamber. The red knuckles hoarded technology because they didn't understand or trust it, and to keep it out of hands of enemies.
The power armoured soldiers ended up annihilating the red knuckles tribe while grognak was away. When he came back only a little boy was a survivor and told grognak of the power armoured demons.

Grognak set off into the wastes for vengeance. Taking the little boy with him and selling him to a neighbouring tribe for supplies.

Eventually he found his way into ncr lands where he found soft people who needed strong couriers to ship goods and messages across the wastes. In his searching for the power armoured demons, grognak heard tell of a group called the brotherhood of steel who lost a war against the ncr. So setting off into the Mojave where he hears of rumours of a chapter of brotherhood of steel, grognaks story in the Mojave begins.

The build is a strictly unarmed warrior with 10 strength and 10 endurance. With the cannibal perk, and the ghastly scavenger, grognak eats the hearts of his enemies to gain their power.
He is also claustrophobic and has the trait. When he's outside he has 5 intelligence where he is in his element, when he's inside he has 3 intelligence and is retarded when it comes to science (complete with retarded int 3 dialogue).

Grognak kills mutants on sight, doing his duty as grognak the barbarian to rid the world of monsters. He knows nothing about technology and thus naturally sides with the legion when he meets them as they have a similar survival of the fittest mentality.

This was one of my funnest builds , as I had many roleplay restrictions and perks i took for this build (like cannibal, ghastly, unarmed perks like slayer etc.). Playing a neutral evil warrior who slays mutants and the weak humans who can't survive the wastes, and slays any power armoured men on sight. Bos or enclave.

This sure does sound very fun and interesting, but the BoS remind me of fallout 2 enclave a whole lot

not much different from a character I'm currently playing as: I'm trying to make drug addicted scumbag (highest S, E and A, while P and I are 1) major skills guns, meele, unarmed, sneak and lockpicking, fights are usually thrilling and full of surprises because I mostly detect enemies the moment they have already started shooting or got 15 meters near me, too bad intelligence doesn't affect conversations much otherwise playing would be much more fun

Not sure if anyone else did it, but my current character specializes in explosives, melee weapons, and speech (4th tagged skill is Survival for hardcore mode) and is a mercenary. Got very evil Karma and is an opprotunist.

My current build is a sneaky "smooth talker" puckish rogue type.

7 agility, high speech, high sneak, and uses small handguns (weathered 10mm pistol right now).

Have the usual confirmed bachloer and lady killer perks.

I play him as a con man with a pistol. I try to talk my way out of things and cheat, swindel and lie only to my benefit. I never help anyone for free.

Fun to play as I have to sneak my way up to enemies due to only using small handguns. And will tell the powder gangers that I will help them, but then betray them in the prison when they ask me to find out about any NCR raids.

A typical "hey baby! Want to come back to my place?" then rob her blind and slip out the backdoor before she wakes up type..lol Ahhh good times.

You are quite the proffesional, you should use the silenced .45, best handgun for an assasin

silenced .45 you say? Hmm seems like I need to do a bit of refinement...thank you for the heads up.

I had a fun playthrough similar to yours, Comrade.
Mine was a big, strong, drugged up idiot who killed everyone in sight with their bare hands.
She...yes, she, also had an appetite for human flesh.
Her name was Roberta Paulson.

Nice.
Sounds like real life.

The most used build is actually most likely the sniper, next to the Call of Duty protagonist.
My most extreme that I actually carried to the endgame was a pacifist ninja or the kleptomaniac altruist.

Cowboy survivalist with science and barter

See come level ....40 or so you've got 100 in all skills, so it doesn't really matter your build.

I've had various different starts but it all ends the same place.

Starting out you got choices,
Guns (pistol/rifle/shotgun)
Energy weapons
Melee (not really a good unarmed option)
Explosives.

With Survival or medicine for heals (but both is doable, and I normally use Sunset sasparilla to heal in the start regardless)

its not so much that more that I have checks to pass coming up do I want to save those checks for later or pass now?

cuz we go to the same place come level 40 anyways.
