Best Melee weapon?

I thought it was the chainsaw but the damn thing breaks down after every fight and its very expensive to maintain it and keep it from breaking.

is there a better melee weapon? one that can last at least a little bit longer?

Chance's Knife is pretty good as well, especially with a few perks. Grunt and Cowboy will each add 25% damage and Piercing Strike will reduce an enemies DT by 15 points.

get the perk Jury rigging, then you can use any 2 handed weapon to repair a two handed weapon like a chainsaw, so you could repair it with a pool cue for example. or a golf club.

But yeah as a melee weapon I would suggest the inversal protonic axe from old world blues. which you can repair fully with a throwing axe from the DLC.

Gehenna can be a funny thing, especially with pyromaniac.

Personally, I like the Deathclaw gauntlet, Pushy and Oh Baby! weapons. If you get Oh Baby! really early, you're all set for the entire game :)

With proper perks, the katana, chance's knife, and blood nap are all contenders.

i quite like two step goodbye, although it has cost me a leg a fair few times. but thats exactly why i carry around 20 doc bags, and i feel like the sight of explosive ragdolls is worth it.

It's a little different from most other melee weapons, but I've always been fond of the thermic lance. Nothing like holding it to a Legion assasin for a couple seconds until he just explodes.

Blade of the west is my favorite even if im not a melee speced character buying myself some time with the knockdown is great
