Fantastic Game!!!!

The game in itself is great. I don't play a lot of indie games, and if I do, they're often only mildly interesting, but this is really a good one.
That being said I'd like to say a couple of things that I don't like about it and make a couple of suggestions to the developers (which from what I've seen are pretty active and listen to people):
1 - The game is really easy. After just 8 or so hours the game became incredibly easy (playing on the third difficulty, maybe the fourth is better, but to unlock it you have to finish the game first), and that's because you gain access to powerful equipment very early in the game and you can have a maximum of 10 companions, which are too OP, especially after you upgrade the training grounds. What I'd suggest is to set the maximum to 2 companions, and maybe make the enemies level up as you become more powerful? You could maybe make them have more health and damage depending on the cost of the players equipment?
2 - The bosses are just bigger enemies, with more health and more damage. No suggestion required here I think, since there are many possibilities to make a good boss in a 2D game.
3 - The upgrades in the town are too cheap. I'm in the middle of the game and I've already bought 85% of all upgrades. Only suggestion I can make is to either higher the price or make the resources more scarce.
4 - Too few achievements. You could make at least 40, for doing all the quests, finding all the pages, fully upgrading the town, clearing all areas and many many more. Make fully completing the game worth it.
In conclusion, I really enjoyed this game, I think I can easily say it's a gem in the rough, but it needs some improvements.
