Mind numbing amount of back tracking. Progress doesn't feel very rewarding. Had to use the wiki many times because I had no direction on where to go next. Ended every session feeling frustrated instead of satisfied. Like I said, its a great game, but the tedium drives me insane.

I used to really enjoy this game, but it's become unbearable for a while now. If you initially played this game on console, and then linked to Steam (such as I did) the game becomes a nightmare for any future prospects of buying premium. Speaking of which: the biggest fault in this game is the grind. Gaijin adores promoting modern MBTs and vehicles in their videos, only for new players to be greeted with ancient interwar tanks planes and tanks. The grinding is this game is horrible, I've been playing for years now (much of it is not recorded on steam since most of my time was on console) and still haven't grinded to a modern tank or jet. Even with premium, the grind is horrible. Gaijin has been slowly forcing more and more people to indulge in microtransactions for years now. Simply put, the game is pay to win. They will often leave new overpowered vehicles unbalanced for a few days to give people a chance to buy the vehicle rather than grind for it. When their newfound cash cow dries out, they finally patch it. To elaborate on my previous statement about console, it is impossible to use a console account on PC and buy premium, as you have to buy it through the console's respective store, where the premium only activates on the console copy of the game. While it is not the fault of the developers, it is still highly irritating. I could go on for hours about all the faults of the game, but I'll wrap it up here: DO NOT download War Thunder. It is impossible to progress without money and cheap strategies. Its free to play model is a facade.

It's just boring. The YouTube videos of this game are deceiving, the reality is that the game is very mundane. On top of that, a warning to people with lower end PCs: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. It is very physics-heavy, and even with a beefy PC, I still get 20 frames unless I turn down the timescale. It's not a fault of the developers/game, but workshop machines are ridiculously difficult due to ♥♥♥♥ key binds and the mod creators all having wildly different controls from one another. There is a ridiculously high amount of buttons in level editors, which makes the game very confusing and frustrating if you are impatient like I am. I'm positive it's a great physics game, but I personally hate it. This is one of my least played games, with good reason, frankly.

I bought this game during a point where I was really fascinated by World War I. Buying this game, compared to BF1, made sense in terms of game realism. Now, first I must applaud the developers for the level of detail in realism; everything from unit names and squad roles are immaculately research and presented. However, the game is not fun enough for me to play more than 1-2 games without logging off out of boredom. It becomes a very tedious cycle: kill bots, die, spend half a minute respawning, and repeat. At this point in time, even compared to when I first bought the game, there is no active players. The most I've been able to find this week is half a server full of people, most of which leave after one game. Frankly, I cannot blame them. The gunplay is clunky and feels like playing on and NES controller. Hipfire feels wildly inaccurate even when the barrel is two feet away from someone. Reloads, even for the sake of realism, are dreadfully slow. I've had moments where I would often stare an enemy in the eye while we both awkwardly reloaded in front of each other. The games are also very long, often taking me half an hour until it is over. I also feel a level of frustration with the game due to the strategy the developers are embarking on, by releasing Tannenburg as a separate game, rather than as an update to Verdun, further splintering player counts and creating a bigger flow of cash to them. It doesn't help their case, or Verdun's, now that they are releasing a third -- separate -- game once again. I really wanted to enjoy this game, but due to the nefarious money-making strategy the developers are seeming to rely on, along with clunky and tedious gameplay, I simply cannot recommend it.

I used to play this game constantly when I was a kid, and eventually decided to buy it on PC. It is the same level of enjoyment I remember from playing this game nearly a decade ago. It has a level of nostalgia to it that is very calming, and is a fun use of your time. I played it with a buddy who also used to play it too, and we had a good time walking down memory lane with the level of camaraderie the game has given us for over a decade. As a kid, I was obsessed with Lego and Star Wars, so I eventually started playing this game daily. Picking it up again for the first time in years was a good experience. For anyone who has or hasn't played before, I would seriously recommend playing it, if you just want to play a silly and relaxing video game.

Early Access Review
Best use of my money, hands down. This game is the perfect blend between fun and fear, an absolute blast to play and banter with your friends while gathering clues -- and an absolute terror when hiding from the ghost. The game is constantly receiving support and updates to amp the game intensity while also maintaining the level of fun you have. The ghost designs are stellar, too: they are very creative and have a level of terror to their appearance without going overboard. There's always a certain level of paranoia you have in the game, such as becoming more on edge after finding out the ghost type. A majority of the maps are enjoyable and have no issues with them. My only gripe with the maps (and frankly the only issue with the game) is the Asylum. Even with a four-man-team, finding the ghost room -- and by extension, the clues -- is very long and tedious, as the map is massive. We often have games where we simply cannot find the room, and leave to play on a different map. Other than that, I have nothing but praise for the game, its updates, and the nice encouragement of communication and progress between player cooperation. I bought this game after refunding Insurgency, and I have no regrets whatsoever on using the money to buy Phasmophobia. I highly recommend it.

I've played this game for a fair amount of time, and I first played it a long time ago, which makes this review hard to post. Unfortunately, it simply isn't fun. Both on official and unofficial servers, you will be met with an overwhelmingly annoying storm of mic spam and halfwit admins. Most, if not, all of the enjoyment is sucked away by children that have picked up the game and think mic spam and team killing is hilarious. The gun play is horrible, with the all the guns feeling like pea shooters -- even to humans. I used to have tons of fun when I first picked it up, but all the enjoyment I used to have isn't here anymore. Another particularly frustrating issue that me and my friends have experienced constantly is the server "shutting down" at the end of every round, forcing us to reconnect and often join late. For a game that is centralized around using voice chat, I feel like it is its biggest annoyance. Even though the game is free, I would seriously recommend you do not play this game.

I've played for a good chunk of time, and can confirm that once you finally get past the eternal queue/load times, you are met with an atrociously boring experience. Would not recommend.

Mind numbingly boring. Maybe it's because I've done everything the game has to offer, but I haven't had fun playing this game since 2020. Not worth your time, especially considering the hackers, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game design, bugs, horrendously recycled content, and nothing to do for fun outside of the tedious grinding. No real reward. You use your money to buy fancy vehicles so you can grind for more money faster.
