I'll be honest. I found the game on a total whim. It was 2am, I was entirely too tired to be awake but I was just that right level of tired to be wide awake and bored. Scrolling through the Steam F2P section, I spotted something that piqued my interest. Seeing it was a pretty small game, I decided "what the hell" and installed the game. And my god, I am so glad I did. The unique gameplay mechanics, the corny yet hilarious story, the bangin' music. I stayed up for a solid extra 4 hours to finish the game. The characters were amusing, the animation sequences are top notch, and the final stretch of the game was so well done. I won't spoil anything for anyone who hasn't played, but if you are looking for something to pass the time, I can only give praise to this little slice of gaming greatness.

> Be me
> Decide to try the game with a buddy
> 1am, server's just about dead
> Grab a tank commander and decide to drive some armor
> Get the tank stuck immediately after driving out of spawn
> Buddy has to drive
> Get lost
> Eventually find our way to the front
> Drive forward and find 0 enemies
> Drive back to friendlies
> Leap out of the tank screaming "SIR PLEASE WE BRING IMPORTANT NEWS FROM THE FRONT"
> Inform the commander that the One Piece is real
> Leave
> Close the game.

A truly accurate WW2 experience.

Rainbow is a... mixed matter for me. On one hand, it's a great game, especially with friends. The learning curve is steep enough that it's not a clown fiesta of a game, but easy enough that it doesnt scare new players away. The T-hunt [now known as Training Grounds [still prefer T-hunt tbh]] is an amazing tool for new and experienced players alike. In fact, when I first started R6, this was how I learned. I had a friend just sorta vibe on Montangue and bait the terrorists while i screwed around behind him. Situations, I could care less about.

My biggest peeve with this game [and I'm sure many would probably agree] is the map rotation on Casual [now known as Quick Match]. Personally, I don't like it. You have ranked and unranked, plus newcomer. I'm fine with those having specific map rotations, but leave quick match alone man. Oh, and Jager. ♥♥♥♥ Jager.

Seriously though, this game is an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blast. But, like all things, it's better with friends. Sure, you can solo-queue and tackle the game solo, but take it from the guy who is almost always solo-queue, eventually you're gonna want to tear your hair out, not only because of the enemy, but because of your own team. It's frustrating, it's rage-inducing. Hell, i've even got in many an argument with my friends over something as simple as a bad callout. But, we keep coming back. There's just something to Siege's operator focused gameplay, the way you learn through trial and error, and the satisfaction of doing something really cool, or even just clutching a round that a few months prior, you would've failed in. A massive tip from me to new players who aren't quite sure yet. If you have doubts about this game, you may be right to. But give it a go. It's an amazing game. Just... be sure to have some friends. Trust me, you'll thank me later.

Early Access Review
Once upon a time, I would've recommended the game. At launch, it was an interesting and novel game that truly was a breath of fresh air in the battle royale scene. A lot of games tend to defer to one of 3 map-styles;

- Barren Desert
- Iraq
- Forest

RoE did something different. It gave us a beautiful winter wonderland. And rather than just plonking some snow down and calling it a day, it built the game around the snowy aesthetic. It's initial abilities gave you either a paraglider, a snowboard or an adventurer's kit, with ice picks and a zip-line tool. It was an entirely new concept, and it was extremely fun. The first event they ever ran was a survival-battle royale. Rather than a zone, there would be a periodic snow storm that would threaten to kill you if you weren't indoors or near a fire, and it was the most fun I ever had in a battle royale. But recent developments, the change to the god-awful island was terrible, the PUBG mobile-esque ♥♥♥♥-tier cosmetics, the now mid at best abilites, and the total disregard for what made the game popular in the first place has effectively sh*t-canned the game into its own perpetual pit of despair. And will posting a wall of text saying "game bad" do anything about it? No. They got what they wanted, they made the money they wanted, so who cares? They're happy, and that's all that matters.

But maybe someone on the team actually gives a f*ck, and might do something about it. Knowing our luck though, they're too busy in a money-fuelled gangb*ng to really give a ♥♥♥♥.

RIP Ring of Elysium, you used to be fun.

Alright. This game has a special place in my heart. Its one of the first PC shooters I ever played, and the reason I met [and still play with] a lot of my friends. But at this point, it's just unplayable. interp abuse, aimbot, lag bot, it's killing the game at this point. Even last night, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around in 2fort, I had the same mygot bot join 10 times, get kicked and rejoin anyways. It's ridiculous. And Valve isn't any better. Yeah, it's an old game and it's not as popular as it once was, but it's still a timeless game that thousands still play. But the ♥♥♥♥ going on right now is going to kill it, if it hasn't already.
