Super Animal Royale, is a game that I like, but can find some issue with. I love the colorful style, the animal selection, the cosmetics, the sprinkling of puns, and the movement/guns all work pretty well. I am however not the best at it, and quite a few people get very sweaty playing it (including me). I did play this game quite a bit in early access (I even bought the founder edition back then), and while the current state of the game is certainly better, not a ton has been changed/added.

It has battle passes, but you can purchase and play older ones. It has a kinda aggressive grind, but the daily and weekly quests help quite a bit. It has cosmetics/dlc that are limited time and never show up again, but it also gives you free cosmetics every time you level up and has a ton of coupon codes that give you free ones as well. There are also in game milestones you can hit, and even without super edition (which adds a ton of milestone rewards) there is still a pretty reasonable amount of things you can try.

At the end of it, the game is free for a lot of stuff, and if you buy the dlcs when they come up you should be able to get enough of the premium currency to play the battle passes when you want with some additional throw ins. Try it out if you are unsure, it costs nothing.

Death's Door is a very fun game, filled with charm and polish. The game understands how to make its set pieces grand as well and the bosses are very fun to beat. After you beat the game there will be quite a bit of stuff to still do that does a good job making 100% this game quite a bit of fun. Some time ago I played and reviewed Titan Souls (Acid Nerve's other game) and complained about the constant down time after death to refight bosses that killed you, fortunately Death's Door does a great job, not just in companion with alleviating this issue, doing a great job reducing the down time that you might expedience.

Overall a great game to try out, 100% completion time is about 12-15 hours with the main game seeming to be done in about 10ish. My only gripe is the lack of a way to re-fight bosses without starting a new game (something that is a bit more annoying as there are 2 achievements that are about doing something specific to specific bosses). These are not required to 100% the game, along with the beating the game with the worst weapon achievement but it still is a small annoyance. Especially as the bosses were fun to fight, and even without the boss specific achievements refighting some of them on my completed save would be fun.

Despite all of that Death’s Door is well worth the 20 USD price tag, and I would say even buying this at a low discount makes it a must buy, especially if the game seems interesting to you.

I love VRChat, I really do. But the implementation of EAC when VRChat does not offer full accessibility options, thereby preventing the use of external applications to add these accessibility options for people that greatly need them is just plain stupid/inconsiderate. Even if VRChat manages to provide these options in the future, it puts additional strain on their development team that was otherwise being picked up by the community. The simple answer is to implement workshop support, then roll out the EAC integration. If mods can be verified in such a way and thus be allowed through the EAC bs it might make both parties happy.

Button City is pretty fun honestly. I personally know the developers via a local game making group, but I did purchase the game for myself and enjoyed my time with it. I currently have about 10 hours in the game, with the main game and the majority of the game finished. Really the stuff I haven't finished either felt too grindy (Achieving 10k buttons and Drinking 10 sodas) or were dealing with a minigame I personally did not enjoy (Beat all Prisma Beats songs in hard mode). That and of course the final achievement which requires me to finish the others.

Button City kinda feels like if Night in the Woods art was more pastel based, both in visual style and in the story. You play as Fennel, a fox new to the town who must try and prevent Button City from being bought out by a rich businessman in a pretty typical "We got to save the Community Center plot". Hi-jinks ensue and Fennel gets some friends and gets to explore the town he moved to.

The game uses a interesting stacked world mechanic where you can teleport between layers, which does a good job making the exploration not lag too much. Personally I just wish the ability was usable inside buildings as well, as it would be great to teleport out when I no longer need to be there, rather than having to walk my way out.

Overall a very charming game that was pretty fun to play.

Inscryption is a great game.

I could talk about the 4 acts and how while the act before the finale drags a bit the finale makes it all up.
I could talk about the honestly engaging gameplay.
I could talk about the interesting characters the game introduces to you.
I could even talk about the ARG, and how after your first playthrough you invariably missed something interesting.
I could even talk about the "mod" that has easily added 30 hours to my playtime, and I'm not done with it.

But honestly, I think the demo does good enough to introduce you to the gameplay and general feel of the game.

Play the demo, if the prospect of more intrigues you, and you like really narratively interesting games this is a great one. And if you complete the game and want more, there is always Kaycee's Mod.

I cannot suggest this game enough to those who have not tried it. And trust me, going in blind helps immensely. After you beat the game you can fixate on the game's mountain of lore and secrets then, don't spoil your first playthrough.

Madness: Project Nexus is really just a dream come true. A full scale game in the madness combat universe that's essentially a beat-em-up. The "story" mode of the game takes about 10-12 hours, and there are even more modes available, one of the more interesting ones being the mode where you build up a base and yourself, while you take on missions.

Honestly the only gripe I have is the companion AI which need quite a bit of babysitting, occasionally getting stuck on level geometry, having to manage their ranged weapons, and sometimes they just lock up and don't even do anything. However as the game is able to be played via coop, so I imagine that for some people this really isn't an issue.

Overall a rather fun game, pretty stable so far, really only have had one time where I was unable to progress due to a game glitch.

Early Access Review
I got this game for free as I've helped do a bit of feedback on the developers prior games.

Malfunction 2 is a sequel to the game Malfunction. The original game was in 2D, but this one is in 3D with a fixed camera angle. When you start the game you are given a small summary of what happened in the last game to catch you up to speed, which does it's job pretty well.

The game itself is kinda like a point and click with its objectives and simple puzzles, but also has some combat in it, along with a boss to provide some variety. The majority of the puzzles really didn't give me too much trouble, but as the game is not yet fully completed an easier start isn't bad. There is a good amount of things your character can do, as they change into diffrent forms and other characters to progress through the levels.

In its current state as of this review, playing through the content will likely take you 40 minutes - 1 hour, with the promise of more to come.

I cannot recommend this game enough.

Tons of characters, runs always feel different, always a chance to get an amazing run so even newer players can have fun with the game, and its a really well polished package overall.

This is one of those roguelites that is a classic in the genre, with good reason.

The art.

The setting.

And the ball gouging difficulty.

I think I'm in love.
