You shouldn't have high expectations for anything published from 2019 and onward, or else you're gonna hurt yourself thinking you're gonna play something good.
Ngl, if you compare Cyberpunk 2077 to BF2042, they're very similar in many ways!

Truth be told, this is my first full on Battlefield ever. I've played a little bit of 4 and liked it, but the feeling of playing an 'old' game doesn't really compare to when you play something new. There's this feeling of being behind the pack never settled well with me and I'm one of those people who always want to play the 'newest' thing. Call me out on it, but I enjoy the small high that you get from those moments. It's rewarding.

Knowing EA's reputation, I knew what I was getting myself into when I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition of the game. Being a person who bought Cyberpunk 2077 on release day with no expectations whatsoever, I could tell deep down that there were going to be issues between the community and the game. So, I had no expectations to begin with, but I knew what I was getting myself into.

And at the time of writing this, it's really really rough lol.

But tbh, I'm not mad, I'm actually having fun for the time that I've played it.

The reason why I reference CP2077 in the same manner as this game is solely because they both have messed up but fun beginnings that make the experience actually enjoyable for the time that I've played it. It's going to be eventually fixed within due time, but just have fun with what you have.

The only glaring difference with CP2077 vs BF2042 is that CP2077 never went further with the idea of multiplayer or co-op, so after all the patches and changes, CP2077 just ends up being a watered down GTA with the "Cyberpunk" aesthetic. At least with BF2042, you can expect the bare minimum of something of a "multiplayer shooter", so there's some replay value to it.

Now are there big issues? Yes, please nerf the helicopters again, they're still too overpowered to fight against.

Yeah, but I mean, they're just a dime in a dozen if you really play the game. If you go out of your way to find glitches, that's when you ruin the illusion and the game falls apart for you.

Now would I recommend it?

Honestly, that's a mixed bag and I really wish I could leave neutral reviews, because views change in due time.
but for now I'll just leave it at negative.

For the "Yes", I'd recommend getting it now so that way you can at least be ahead when the 2nd or 3rd waves show up after the game gets patched and fixed. I'm also one to advocate not buying "Shortcut" packs, because I believe those are a waste of money and it's more fun to level up and grind for your attachments rather than just buying everything at level 1.

For the "No", I wouldn't recommend it now because you should wait for more content. The base game doesn't really have enough content to do "enough" with, and Portal is also not fulfilling enough either. There's fun within the game, but there's not enough fun at this current stage.

In the end, it's just a game made by a big company. Don't go in thinking it's going to be the "game", those don't exist anymore. Just have fun with what you have now.

STAY AWAY FROM COOP UNTIL BUGS ARE PATCHED OUT, OR YOU WILL LOSE PROGRESS/SOFTLOCK
Luckily I heeded those warnings and have only had a good single player experience!

tl;dr - 'The game that's basically what Cyberpunk 2077 could of been' but top-down isometric.

tl;dr2 - you (a random nobody merc/hitman/man-for-hire) is tasked to do a bunch of missions after your big corpo slave life suddenly dies. Have fun, fight for your 'freedom'.

As a person who had bought Cyberpunk 2077, this is what I WISHED that game could of been. I've never played a 'Diablo' type game either, so this was a first for me, either way I've been enjoying the game from both a story/worldbuilding and combat mechanics.

Some of the bosses/enemies (mostly the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ spider boss that can suck a ♥♥♥♥) are kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and required me to set the game difficulty to easy in order to beat them. There's also no information/assistance that tells you how to defeat specific bosses/enemies, so if you're struggling on a certain boss/enemy, change your weapons around until they're effective or be me and set the difficulty to easy because the 'it's the games fault'.

Also, for those who are wondering why certain hacks don't work (as some people complained), it's not a bug (at least at the time of writing). You either need to find more cyberdecks or hack the door/chest/hackable-thingy by pressing your 'Hack' key (c for default, idk controller lol) after that then you can interact with door/chest/etc.

I'd recommend this game for a good single player experience. Just don't touch coop yet.

I plan on updating this review later on.

Early Access Review
Suika Adventure, something to look forward to.

tl;dr - Basically Suika wants to have a party, and nothing is gonna stop her in doing so. There's only '3-ish' bosses and the story is kinda short and unfinished, but the gameplay is pretty solid and the level design is pretty. I think the most of the work here is in the sprite work, so give it some time and it'll be on par to Luna Nights.
At the time of writing this I only have almost up to 2 hours, and yes, I finished all of the content and have most of the secrets.

=====

Story
Suika Ibuki wants to have a party, and just so happens, there's a festival that Reimu at the Hakurei Shrine is planning as well! Go around exploring the land of Gensokyo, inviting everyone in for the great festival!

Gameplay
Controller Highly recommended, but are fluid and play well, In-depth tutorials teach you all that you need to know.

The Gameplay is Metroid-vania adventure, where you have full range of fluid movement from the start. However, if you know anything Touhou (assuming that you do), you'll need to dodge a lot of projectiles to survive specific fights.
Metroid-vania Touhou aka Platformer Bullet-hell

Difficulty
I'm bad at Touhou games in general, but difficulty wise I'd say it's a 'medium' difficulty. It's not too hard, and I'm pretty sure there are some mechanics I haven't even touched yet, but for a newcomer to the Touhou series, I think this one is pretty decent at a difficulty sake.

Look and Feel
The game looks freaking amazing, it's all pixel/sprite art and done fantastically. Let alone the character art is divine and unique to it's own story!

Languages
English is supported, if there's VA work in the mix I hope so.

=====

In the End...
Would I recommend this game?
It's still in development, and in Early Access (since 2019), so use your own judgement if you want to wait a while before the full release is out. Sometimes Early Access games can take a long time before they release fully.

However, my suggestion is really positive, and despite me getting into the game this late, I'd highly recommend getting it when you feel like it. Props to the Dev for his work, a 1-man indie game is no easy task, I'd toss money at that any day if it offers any good type of quality.

I'm looking forward to what this game has to offer. I'll most likely stream it when I can, lets just hope that it gets somewhere to completion.

Please see the update on the bottom for an updated review

The meme of Early Access is that it will stay in Early Access forever, never finished and only existing to leach off of peoples money.

tl;dr - The game is okay, good for coop and best with friends. But for 3 years and only 3ish chapters, there's a lot more to be desired, and there are plenty of other games that do the survival genre better. I'm going to wait for this game to get out of Early Access before I touch it again, but this is a no for me.

======

Story
Basically the world was flooded like Windwaker. Survive off the wastes of humanity and go around trying to learn what happened to the planet. Watch out for Bears, Seagulls and Sharks however because those are the enemies.

Gameplay
Don't leave your raft, the world revolves around it. Make sure to maintain and upgrade it as you go, the sharks will try to destroy it. Seagulls will try to eat your crops, so shoot them down or build scarecrows.

I've never played Rust (and probz never will), but I hear it's almost like that, and yeah it kinda is when comparing. Somewhat Minecraft-esk, but it works.

Basically, in order to progress your survival, you need to progress your Raft, I mean, it's in the name of the game.

Funny enough, there's no height limit, so you can build the tallest Raft with no consequences and take no fall damage whatsoever, as long as you fall in the water that is.

Cooperative Play
This is one of those games where you need friends to play with to fully enjoy the Raft experience. I think there's more value in playing with one or two friends, and might be a necessity when keeping an eye on that dang shark that eats your raft.

Why the negative review?
Honestly, it's unfinished and needs more. There are tons of other survival games (Valhiem, Minecraft, Terraria, etc) that mimic or even do it better than Raft can. It's unique at best for it's idea, but the lack of updates and interest is what keeps me away from playing it more. The lack of a modding/workshop scene also pushes my interests away.

I'll play it again once when the game is fully finished so I can experience it all with friends. I can't keep waiting for a game to release a chapter every 10+ months or so because I'll burn out quick with the lack of updates.

== Update ==
6/27/2022

It took a while, but with all of the content provided the game is good and enjoyable, so I changed my view on it.

It's still best with one or two friends, especially for some of the story missions.
because they're long winded and really bland puzzles

There is a long grind for basic materials if you want to pimp out your raft and have all of the end game materials, but you can make due with the basic materials and live off cheap if you wish to rush through the story.

And now we wait for the DLCs and to see what the devs have to offer, if anything.

There are 'mods', so you can be somalian pirate sim too if you want lmao

This is a early Q1 2023 update of a game I will never play ever again.

What I wanted:
The defacto Infantry realism experience.
More Based Mikee VA.

What I got:
Call of Duty: Dogwater
A broken heart because Mikee left.

-=-
Reject Sandstorm, Return to Source
1. Unreal Engine make my PC go brr.
2. The game is kept afloat by Cosmetic DLCs.
3. Look at the player count.
4. Modded servers.

It's 2023 and there's still no Hunt gamemode. Instead, we have bootleg defusal, now that's a joke!

This is so sad, but then again, I can't be mad. This is Game Development in the 21st century. What do you expect.

I miss Mikee.

I wish i could leave a review without rating, because at the moment this game is like... incomplete gold, though where the pacing is taking this I'm not sure if I could stand on a neutral review.

I bought this game ignoring the hype and had no expectations going in. Mostly on a whim cuz my friends were getting into it.

Story - is okay, but you'll forget it when compared to titles with bigger stories. Has multiple endings that don't really do much. I was expecting something similar to GTA but... for what it's worth i guess it's kinda worth it?
Combat - It's an RPGFPS, which kinda sucks. Melee is generic and all the same, you just get the option to kill or pacify.

I mean, honestly I don't feel like writing much more because the game is lackluster when you compare it to others. It just 'looks' good.

"A shiny coat of paint, with dog poop as perfume" is what i would call it.

Hoping that CDPR pulls a No Mans Sky and pulls this game out the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

You can go far as you want, even beat the game itself, but 1-1 is always there, calling you back.

You can play as Epic Cirno.

This review is a updated early Q1 2023 Revision due to the recent controversy of news within Squad. It is to be mentioned that although that this review is marked as 'Positive' it is to be treated and understood as 'Neutral.'

I'm okay with the emotes, I quite frankly don't care about it at all. They were in the game to begin with already as Squad Leader animations, and OWI stated that they weren't going to be impacting the game state or during staging. So, you shouldn't care about it, rather, the developers need their pay, so you should support them.

Who knows, maybe the Devs will finally fix the game breaking issues with the emote money that have been in the game for years. Maybe they should dedicate their time to fix those issues first. I still have flashbacks to the MEA Ironman HAT kit. (man, that was a while back)

What I don't want to see is another Payday 2 or Insurgency: Sandstorm situation, where the game relies on DLCs to keep itself afloat. If this game ends up relying on DLC's to function as a game then that's where I get off. Trust me, I've seen it before. If you need a map chart to pick the right DLCs to get the right experience (looking at you Hitman 3) then something must be wrong in the head for the developers, and that's when we should get concerned.
