Came here after Terraria expecting much more and my hundred hours of gameplay would show you how much i love playing this game. I preferred the online Co-Op with my brother and we had some good times with this. After so many years this game still qualifies for "Labor of Love" award.

I started playing the game because of the free weekend offers on steam and i was hooked on it ending up purchasing the actual game. Then started hours of pure fun where the Open World was beckoning my free time. Then hit the July 2021 update where everything broke. Server lag, server disconnections, Crafting station glitches, NPCs glitching and lagging, random teleportations, bullets doing random damage became the norm and i had to stop playing. If it takes so many weeks for the developer to patch such simple bugs, maybe taking the game online only was a big mistake. This was the first game in the Fallout Franchise for me and i need to see if there are older offline fallout games that i can perhaps have more fun playing!

I started The Forest after finishing Terraria and i am a fan of Open World Survival Craft games. I played Co-Op with my brother who was in a different city and the experience was smooth. The game gets pretty scary at night fall, not to forget the variety of inhabitants and mutants that we came across regularly. Though the game has some bugs which can be taken into your advantage, the gameplay was simply amazing. Starting with an axe, chopping down trees to build a camp or fire to keep yourself warm at night or when it rains, the game takes a turn when we encounter caves. The caves were not my favorite as i didn't like being stuck in dark places, when the outside was so beautiful graphically. The story line was great, though it could have been a bit longer. We didn't get around to finishing all the achievements and only managed around 60 percent of it after almost 60 hours of gameplay. I do have to admit we were not chasing these achievements, rather we stumbled upon them as the game progressed. We could have spent 100s of hours building our base and crafting the items, but we focused on the story and finishing it. Overall highly recommended for the intense gameplay and scary monsters!

The game is so open that you always forget the main task and venture on an endless journey with side tasks!

Good game for the time it was released. The newer releases are not so great.
