is a gg, has its problems that have already been pointed out and exagerated in some cases, this is a playable and highly intense fun game. I hope it improves where it lacks and leans into it's strengths with future content. Regardless, at this point, with the game as it stands it is already worth the $60 in my opinion.

relatively simple game, and so much fun. voxel system feels and functions great, game is funny, and combat is fast paced, allows for variety, and the skill ceiling and floor aren't terribly far apart. GG

Typically I'm not one to write a review, but as I see this game has so few of them, and all the negative reviews I've seen written based on personal issues, not to do with the actual game play, I'm just doing my part to counter vote one of these smooth brains.

This is a great game, best way I can describe it is Slay the Spire combined with Darkest Dungeon (In fact I'm pretty sure they used the DD town as inspiration for their town design, which was a nice familiar sight for me), if you liked either of those games you'll like this, and if you don't then it's probably because you haven't played either of them, and this is a great intro game to the mechanics and strategy needed to succeed in games that revolve around these strategies. There is no tutorial, you're not gonna need it. Things work simply and evolve on each other intuitively, it's clear what each hero's purpose is but the deck building is flexible enough to allow you to change their purpose enough to keep things interesting and suit your current party (at least the starting characters, I haven't unlocked more)

Co-op works well, however don't go in expecting to make a new friend in a random lobby, the system doesn't lend well to playing with strangers through text windows, that's even if you can find a public game. I played with a friend in a discord call and it was very enjoyable. I controlled the front two characters and he controlled the back two, however you can set any player to control any number position and whoever. the co-op systems work well, preventing resource competition by having each player manage their own resources, encouraging cooperation in battle, as each character serves a role all equally important to success, and having a good system to settle campaign choice differences, this being a card flip of each character and the winner's choice being taken.

I do have a gripe with this game, the animation of the characters, its basic. while you have so many different abilities and items to utilize in this game, you're guy is gonna look exactly the same throughout the whole thing, and unless they're using magic then they've seemingly got one or two different attack animations, for example the wolf guy, he either swings his sword or raises his shield, doesn't matter if you used your 3 point armor breaking slam (no clue what its called) or your 1 point slash, he's gonna swing that sword with his itsy bitsy wrist and the target is gonna flinch just the same. I hope this is something the developers consider working on, as many would argue (me included) this isn't super important for game play, it does help hugely with watchability, which goes a long way.

all in all this game is a lot of fun, great for co-op and single player, pretty much every game play mechanic is well done, and while some things could be improved in this game, please remember this was written on the second day this game came out, its in early access and will be evolving as time goes on. I'm excited to see that!

I like this game WAY more than you're going to like it, and that's because this game is impossible to master, with the slowest skill climb in any game that I can think of. You're going to suck at level 1, and you're going to suck at level 50 with 200 hours spent in this glorious piece of ♥♥♥♥, and if you're some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ loser who can put over 1000 hours in this game then you're gonna feel like an absolute bad ass at points, but at other points you're gonna be 0-3 against a level 2 because they don't have the F*cking simple knowledge to parry a swing, and thus are immune to feints, the crutch you lean on so heavily, and in turn making you realize that you still suck.

but unless you've got a giant stick up your ass and can not take a game too seriously you're gonna be laughing your ass off every 5 minutes. Just get this game, make yourself a little noob knight, give him a name and give him love, and watch him die 100,000 deaths while you experience every emotion there is.

In a word, amazing.

the learning curve in this game can be steep, its very challenging and holds many unforgiving ways which you can die, from picking up a wand that creates an explosion in your face to some douche bag zombie with dynamite breaking a vat of toxic sludge pouring down through the dungeon and engulfing the path you need to take.

Above all else, what really strikes me about this game is it's potential. right now you have a very good rouge like game which brings realistic physics and elemental behavior phenominally, but I can't help but imagine how well this project would fair as a Terraria like survival game. I know this isn't planned, and I'm sure this review will get buried in the mountain of praise this game is getting, but if the developers used what they've created to make a building and survival game then this game IMO could very well achieve the legendary status that games like minecraft and terraria have achieved.

This game is truely an experience, imagine playing some absurd adventure game and mostly all of the characters sould like Rick or Morty. Every single level something makes me laugh hard, and above all else this game plays in a very unique yet intuitive way. I have been playing the game without VR and it works perfectly, I can imagine the VR experience would be phenomenal, but in no way is it necessary to enjoy the game.

I don't know how this game has such low reviews. This game was very memorable for me. it combines complete freedom to accomplish tasks how you please (or don't do them at all!) you can tell there is A LOT going on behind the screen here to create a dynamic world functioning as a world should, which is something other games simply HAVE NEVER delivered on this level before. This game kept me busy for HOURS and I loved every second of it. is it perfect? no. but I really have trouble naming anything bad about it.

P.S. if you buy this game Nexus Mods can go a LONG way. every tweak and change you could possibly want is available there and the community has done a great job.
