Gameplay: 5.2/10*5 26pts/50pts
This game has a really interesting idea but is let down by the poor execution explained later on but to put it shortly, this game is very janky and unpolished.

Story: N/A – 0/0pts
Game has no story

Graphics: 6.5/10*2 13pts/20pts
Lighting is pretty good but other then that the graphics are not great, particularly of note is janky animations. This game does underestimate system requirements, I would suggest nothing less then a HD 7970 or GTX 680 for decent framerates. It also does not make good usage of multi-core CPUs which is quite bad considering what kind of game this is (Ryzen 7 3700X utilization peaked at ~25% in this game)

Mechanics and Controls: 3.5/10*4 14pts/40pts
The AI is horrible and simplistic, which I can somewhat get considering this is a game where you're going to have so many troops in a battle but c'mon now

Value: 2.0/10*3 6pts/30pts
$17.50 CAD is a straight ripoff for the amount of content and the quality of game you're getting. I can only recommend this game if the price is lowered to below $5 CAD

Overall: 4.2/10 59pts/140pts
This game is not very good overall and am looking forward to a more polished UEBS 2. System requirements are not accurate (CPU is though) and game is overall boring with the simplistic AI. Unless you get this game for free or the price is lowered drastically I cannot suggest you purchase it.

Hello, If you’ve read my serious reviews in the past, you know that I have a general format with it, but now I am updating it and will be updating my other serious reviews to use the new format. This new format will have different categories weighed differently depending on what type of game it is

Gameplay: 9/10*5 45pts/50pts
In this game, you build tanks. The tanks will generally be between WW1 and late WW2 era as that is all we can build tech-wise right now. Whether building tanks is your thing is pretty much the deciding factor in if you’d like this game or not. If that sounds like fun to you, buy it.

Story: N/A – 0/0pts
There are some scenarios but that’s really it as far as a story goes. I don’t think it’s nearly in depth enough for me to give this a rating.

Graphics: 8/10*2 16pts/20pts
The graphics are overall quite good but a few things to point out would be rather low-resolution shell holes in tanks. I’m being a bit picky because it’s the only thing I can notice and it does not really hinder the gameplay in any way.

Mechanics and Controls: 9/10*4 36pts/40pts
Tanks can feel a bit slow at times, even the prebundled ones. Like War Thunder, the tanks use a module system which I’m really fond of and makes it feel more realistic.

Value: 6.5/10*3 19.5/30pts
At the moment it’s a bit hard to recommend if you are looking for a content packed game. $22 CAD is quite a bit for what you are getting at the moment, but also remember that this game is being developed by a single person and is in early access, with more content coming to the game (with the roadmap clearly outlined by the dev) I can see that price being very good in the future. What you are getting is a game where you can build tanks with a quite realistic, seemingly WT-inspired model. For some, $22 is a small price to pay for that.

Overall: 8.3/10 116.5/140pts
This game shows LOTS of promise and I think it’s the start of a really good game. It’s not the most content packed at the moment considering the price, but that will be changing in some time. The base game right now is already quite good and I’m very excited to see how it will get better. Whether I can recommend to you this game or not depends on your answer to this question: Have you always wanted to build WW1/WW2 tanks to potentially rival ones like what you see in the real world? If so, this game is for you. If you still generally have an interest in building WW1/WW2 era tanks I can still give it a big recommendation. If that does not sound like fun to you, then don’t buy it (but what are you even doing here in that case).

War Thunder primarily has 2 modes, Tank and Air battles, with a couple of difficulty options, ranging from Arcade to Realisitc. No matter what you choose, you can be pretty sure you’ll have a fun experience, and it’s honestly what you’d expect. The game is pretty fun when you get kills but when you are one shot by something that should have no business dealing with you , that can get kinda hard (like SPAA kills, or flanking BT-7 in a rank 3 match)

Story: N/A – 0/0pts
There’s no lore to war thunder. You progress down a tree and will generally (although not always) be in a similar time period. Rank I matches comprise of interwar and early WW2 light tanks, Rank II mid war medium and heavy tanks, Rank 3 Late War medium and heavy tanks, Rank 4 late war tanks and early MBTs and so on.

Graphics: 9/10*2 18pts/20pts
This game on the high settings is a treat to look at, and only gets better with the ultra and movie presets. Lighting effects are very good and realistic, texture detail is also very good. This game at very low settings looks awful but can run on a potato.

Mechanics and Controls: 9/10*4 36pts/40pts
This is the most realistic tank and aircraft combat game out there (and I presume navy too, but I don’t really play navy)

Value: 5/10*3 15/30pts
The best description of war thunder is pay to progress. By en-large, the game is not p2w (infact, many of the payed/premium vehicles are overall worse then their free counterparts). The grind starts out fairly small, however, as you get to ~rank 5 or 6, the grind starts to become very time consuming, with vehicles taking a long time to research, and the fact that you will be out of silver lions after purchasing and training a crew. What is even worse is that vehicles have a repair cost, so it is possible to go into a battle and have a net loss of lions, especially if you do poorly. And researching all vehicles/aircraft on all nations? Forget it unless you’ve got the cash to make it happen. The expected grind for max rank for an average player is around 600 hours.

Overall: 7.8/10 109/140pts
It is easy to see why War Thunder is one of the juggernauts of free games on steam. It is simply the most realistic tank combat game out there, with great graphics to boot assuming you have a PC that can run it, and even if you don’t, the lowest settings with work on nearly anything (it will run somewhat smoothly on my Lenovo ThinkPad X250 with HD 5500 graphics at the lowest settings). With all that being said, the game can get very, very grindy at the higher tiers, and with multiple tiers to research, don’t expect to have every vehicle unless you pay up, and even if you do, it can still take a while.

This game isn't for everyone. I personally love driving a truck around potentially for hours on end, but again, that will depend on you. Some may find it boring, and some may find that it gets them interested into simulator games. You've gotta try it and see it for yourself.

Story: N/A – 0pts/0pts
The game really has no story. You drive a truck around western Europe, and that's about it to the story.

Graphics: 7.5/10*1 7.5pts/10pts
The graphics are roughly average. Texture resolution is fairly low and lighting isn't the most realistic I've seen, however, many mods exist to give the game better graphics. Depending on your mod configuration, my rating would be anywhere between a 6 (base game) and a 9, thus averaging to a 7.5.

Mechanics and Controls: 9.5/10*2 19pts/20pts
Euro Truck Simulator is the most realistic simulators I've ever played. Everything from the physics of the truck, to things such as fuel consumption does a great job at mimicking real life (the exception to this is food and water ~ truck drivers need to eat too!).

Value: 8.25/10*3 24.75/30pts
$22 is roughly what you'd expect a game from 2012 to cost. Considering that you get to travel across western Europe, there should be many hours of playtime.

Overall: 8.3/10 91.25/110pts
ETS2 is a great simulator game. If you're in to simulators you're going to love ETS2, and some that may not have even been into simulators may see ETS2 as the spark to their simulator game addiction. The graphics are average but not great or terrible, but plenty of mods out there that will improve the graphics (and I will say, ETS2 with those graphics mods makes me not want to return to them without). Controls just like you would expect a truck to control like in real life, and you can get plenty of hours out of it for $20. Overall, it's a great game and worth your money.

Hello, If you’ve read my serious reviews in the past, you know that I have a general format with it, but now I am updating it and will be updating my other serious reviews to use the new format. This new format will have different categories weighed differently depending on what type of game it is

Gameplay: 4/10*5 20pts/50pts
The gameplay isn’t really all that fun or interesting. Seems more or less like any another crime simulator. Does it have the worst gameplay I’ve ever seen? No, but with my experience with the game, this is just “meh” level enjoyment.

Story: 6.37/10 *3 – 19.11pts/30pts
Haven’t really played much of it yet, but it looks like it will evolve into a cliché crime simulator-type story.
Don’t really know what else to say about it. Take this with a grain of salt as I said before, I have not played very much of GTA V, but I can't shake that feeling.

Graphics: 9.75/10*1 9.75pts/10pts
The graphics are amazing, the texture details are incredible, and so is the lighting. Truly a work of art to look at. It would be in my Top 5 as far as graphics go.

Mechanics and Controlls: 5/10*2 10pts/20pts

GTA V also falls flat here. Most of the game is fine, most of it. However, driving, a integral part to GTA V is one of the worst things to do in the game. Driving is clunky and the cars in it are hard to control.

Value: 4/10*3 12/30pts

This game is not worth the sale price of $14.99 CAD, and certainly not worth the full $30 price. For that money I could buy DOOM, EUIV, an older CoD game, ect. Of course, however, take that list with a grain of salt as these are the kinds of games I would much preferred to buy now getting a taste of GTA 5. Hell, even Saints Row IV is better in my opinion (sure, it might not be as polished as GTA V, but is a lot more fun to me), and it is the closest non-GTA game that I own.

Overall: 5.0/10 70.86/140pts
Would I call it bad? Depends. It depends on who you are. I know people who would love to play GTA V and love these kind of crime simulator games. However, I am not one of them, but I can’t say that it’s a bad use of my money, It was a game I never tried and a genre that I haven’t really experienced other then the rather silly SR4. GTA V is a much more serious game compared to SR4, and it happens that this is just not for me. The story to me was meh, the controls in a vehicle were harder then they should have been, and this game is priced quite high (which is kinda understandable considering the budget that Rockstar blew away on this game)

Gameplay: 9.75/10*5 48.75pts/50pts

Even in the base game with no mods or DLC, Hearts of Iron IV is packed with content and things to do. You could try playing as the Soviet Union, annex Poland and Germany and then have a civil war after (which is what happened the first time I played) or as Germany trying to win WW2, or maybe as Mexico joining the Axis and taking some of the US’s land while they are distracted. There are truly so many things to do in Hearts of Iron IV, and that’s not even talking about DLCs or Mods, which can add all different types of gameplay experiences. This game is a grand-strategy sandbox where the world is literally your oyster. That being said, some people may find Hearts of Iron IV a hard game, and there certainly is a lot of micromanagement in the game, so if you don’t like those types of game, Hearts of Iron IV is not the game for you.

Story: N/A *3 - 0pts/0pts

Story in Hearts of Iron IV is not existent. The story of Hearts of Iron IV is what you make the story of it be, or whatever the story of the various mods make it be. What there is of story is basic summaries of events.

Graphics: 7/10*1 7pts/10pts

Hearts of Iron IV has OK graphics. Portraits of world leaders and icons are well designed including the map, but it’s nothing mind-blowing or innovative, even for a game released in 2016. This isn’t DOOM 2016 (which in my opinion, had some of the best graphics I’ve ever seen a game have)

Mechanics: 8/10*2 16pts/20pts

As I said before, Hearts of Iron IV is a fairly complex game, with many things going into it, and isn’t for everybody. I’m just going to leave it at that since going through all of the mechanics in the game would take me quite a while.

Value: 8.37/10*3 25.11/30pts

I’m kinda mixed on this one. Hearts of Iron IV is $43.99 CAD on the steam store. That’s expensive for a game released in 2016, however, fairly cheap as you now get some pre-bundled DLC with the game. This isn’t something everybody would want and I’m sure there are people would like a cheaper option that just has Hearts of Iron IV and no DLC. That being said, I would personally say that $43.99 is worth it considering the DLC you get, but not everyone would say the same. You also have to consider steam sales, which make the game have an even better value.

Overall: 8.8/10 96.86pts/110pts

Overall, Hearts of Iron IV has to be one of my favrouite games, despite me only having 30 hours in it as of writing this review. The number of things you can do in Hearts of Iron IV and the realistic tone of it makes it truly one of the best games I’ve ever played.

V-Katsu is an amazing little avatar/character creator for whatever you need to use it for, and it can give you some pretty incredible results given some time. I haven't played enough to be able to create something truely incredible, however, given time, I likely can.
