Why is epic games so consistently bad? Have they considered just being good instead?

It's refreshing playing a game which feels complete.

Edit: Just got all the achievements, such a brilliant game. Love it.

Very chilled and fun, but there is enough details and mechanisms to keep you interested.

seems fun so far but no ultrawide support and some stuttering. Will change review once fixed.

love it.

I loved dark souls 3 and went into the NIOH series with fairly low expectations, however I was so so wrong. What an amazing game!

I played a bit of NIOH 1 on EGS when it was given out for free, and enjoyed it a lot. Decided to pick this up as well on sale and have been having a blast so far.

It's very different from souls, so this was my first misconception. A great game in it's own right.

Certainly one of the highlights that I've played recently.

Edit: 2 weeks after launch, still near impossible to complete a horizon arcade. Still frequent crashes further increasing the challenge in actually accomplishing anything. Fix the game!!!!

It's OK.

However, it's frankly unacceptable for a game this expensive and made by such a large company to have so many bugs at launch, and to have so many unbelievably silly design choices.

Why do you get pulled out of what you are doing and get constantly pestered?

Why do you have to have certain controls bound, when you will never use them? Why can't we bind one button to multiple things?

Why is the recommended solution for the game being badly designed and triggering antivirus false positives to UNINSTALL YOUR ANTIVIRUS AND DISABLE WINDOWS DEFENDER?????????

Why does it take so long to load in online adventure?

It's shameful how badly designed some things in this game are, and were just as bad in FH4. Why weren't they fixed? Do the devs play their own game? I find it hard to believe they do, given some of the glaringly obvious design flaws.

Will I play 100s of hours in this game? Probably. Does that mean that there aren't stupid design decisions? No. Why aren't they fixed? It's so frustrating, as the game could be so much better if not for seemingly arbitrary decisions.

Pretty good game, and certainly worth getting while on sale.

I'll go over some of the positives and some of the things I think could be improved.
Positives:
- Nice graphics and good level of detail
- Decent selection of tanks
- Relaxing gameplay
- Feeling of progression and good unlockable environments (museum, warehouse, testing range)
- Ability to drive and shoot tanks is nice.

Could be improved:
- The UI and controls aren't great in the extraction area. Would be good to be able to see the magnetic scan data on the minimap, or at least to be able to place markers from the tablet which show up in the world / on the minimap. I found myself pressing m to open the map as this is the standard in many games, but this places a marker at the current location.
- Tutorials feel a bit clunky.
- It's very easy to get a lot of money, and then that money isn't very useful. For example, just by fully completing a tank on a contract which only asked for minor repairs, I got over $200,000. Would be cool if money was more useful, for example at a tank auction (I know you can buy new tanks, but that seems kinda pointless as the game is about repairing stuff.)
- The radial menu could be improved. I'd rather have tools in a hotbar TBH.
- Blueprints are too expensive to be worth it.
- handling of the tanks when driven isn't great, but that's fair enough since that's not the main focus of the game and it's great that you can drive them at all.
- would be good if you had some control over what type of tanks you extract, as otherwise it's just RNG (I spent ages looking for a maus)
- menus are somewhat clunky and unresponsive, for example the tank organisation menu.

Could be added:
- Tank auction
- More skills (e.g: automatic screwing)
- guests visible in museum

Overall:
good game, definitely worth picking up but doesn't have a huge amount of replayability. Ended up with all skills and a museum with 4 tanks in it and about 1.5 million credits, and I feel like there's not a huge amount more to do besides restoring one of each tank. I can't imagine I will be playing much more of this than I already have, but that's not to say I didn't enjoy the game.

Cool concept, definitely a lot of potential! I think when more stuff is added and a bit more progression it will be a great game. That's not to say you shouldn't pick it up at the moment, I'd say it's still worth it in the current state with a little bit of a sale.
