THE boomer shooter. The penultimate classic fps game... It's alright. Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but I would much rather replay doom 1 or 2 or half-life again. It's a really fun game, but it's not perfect, I mean I love it's atmosphere (all the eldritch horror stuff is my JAM) and the soundtrack done by NIN is absolutely fantastic, but it starts to wane in quality around episode 3 and 4. Episode 4 and the final "boss" are the best examples of this (you telefrag an elder god and the game just sort of... ends). I would still recommend it though. It's an incredibly important part of gaming history and it's still tons of fun.

Easily the best of the classic series in my opinion. Fantastic atmosphere on top of way better level design than the two games before it. Just wish that the soundtrack wasn't mostly ambient music. Don't get me wrong I love it, but it does get a little too far away from what I love about these games' soundtracks. Overall though, a fantastic, frantic and fast paced experience.

Easily the best game in the franchise, bar none. I've been a fan of this series for a bit and watching it grow into the even bigger behemoth it is now than it was when it started is just amazing. The gunplay is some of the best I've seen in an fps period. The variety of strategy that every enemy brings to the table is phenomenal. Every enemy encounter is a new puzzle to solve, and the tools for solving said puzzles are a cavalcade of insanely fun weapons. All of what I've said isn't even scratching the surface of how good this game is, I could talk for hours about the lore, the environments, the characters, the fanservice (that doesn't feel forced and is actually charming), and so much more. I love this game so, very much.

This game is honestly so good I wouldn't blame someone for thinking it was an official expansion or something. The writing, the puzzles, the art, It's borderline Valve quality. It's not perfect in some places but the problems it has are negligible and to bring them up would just be nitpicking. I can't believe this doesn't cost any money, if it were a few hours longer I'd say it would be worth a full $60, as it is now though? Maybe $40? It being free is just icing on the cake.

I feel like this game is often overlooked, I've seen a good couple of reviews call it an alright platformer with good art and not much else going for it, but I can't help but disagree. The gameplay alone is pretty engaging and, but I feel a lot of people ignore the really well done silent storytelling on display in this game. It's also got an artstyle unlike many other games I've played, the closest I can think of might be American McGee's Alice Returns. Overall a solid game with an intriguing plot, good gameplay and beautiful art.

One of the best shooters ever made. A fantastic game that's aged almost perfectly. Everything about it feels good, the shooting, the enemy variety, the environments, they all come together to create one of, if not the most memorable fps game I've ever played.

I had fun with it, but it started getting uninteresting near the end unfortunately. The story is really lacking too. Good gameplay, meh story and meh visuals add up to an okay 3 to 4ish hour experience.
