Leveling
1 - 25; Plenty of Quests and extremely fun entry into the game.

25 - 35; You begin to run out of quests and need to start doing Town boards/Portals to supplement the level grind
Running Dungeons more than once is not worth the xp/hr compared to the Town boards/MSQ/Portal running.

35 - 45; You are out of quests, MSQ jumps from "get level 40 to get to level 50" after about 5 - 6 quests. Town boards and Portal grinds are a must to level up.

50+: XP is still bad, but there are plenty of quests in all the high level zones; you will need to do Town boards and Portal grinds still to reach level to 60.

Overall it's different to play an MMO that has quests that don't give you enough XP to hit max level and require you to craft and boost towns in order to gain xp. Portal running is mind-numbing after about 20 minutes but it's free xp as long as you have enough bodies.

Gear
1 - 25; Amirine Excavation has some of the best drops early game that you can use all the way up to 50 (I used the Rare CON helm until I replaced it with an epic 53 Epic PvP helm). BoP loot is not tradeable

25 - 40: Use PvP faction gear. The Resilience Perk + Armor + Gem socket + Main stat/CON and ability to use Seals are extremely powerful. You notice almost immediately in PvP and PvE. 35 dungeon gear isn't great.

40 - 53; it's a desert. as you level up, the gear that drops is higher level but still is worse than the 40 faction gear. Level 53 armor is OK, but not worth the amount of time/effort when 60 is around the corner. The 45 dungeon gear has some niche pieces (healer ring)

53 - 60: You can use 40 faction gear all the way to 60; the closer you get to 60 the weaker you become because of this. When you hit 60 and jump from 420/490 faction gear to 525.. Probably the biggest power spike in the game. 55 dungeon is fun and has basic upgrades to the weapons/rings/etc you got out of the previous dungeons.

60: the 525 PvP Faction armor gear is better than anything you will find in the open world, while quests provide a modest set of weapons that are 550+.
As of this review every level 65 portal are bugged and won't allow you to close it even after completing the MSQ.

*allegedly* Endgame dungeons require you to do them multiple times to raise the base GS by 5 all the way from 500 to 600 in order to get upgrades. (I've only ran Genesis once and plan on updating this review if this information is false).

PvP
Some of the best XP/Weapon XP/Faction Rep/Faction tokens in the game. They really push you to PvP; that level 20 looks like a juicy amount of xp for your level 1 weapon when you hit higher levels and promotes low level player killing, but a enough low level players can still kill a high level player (unless they're 60 and have 525 PvP faction gear with Lifestaff/GA).

Small scale skirmishes are extremely fun; fighting up to 5v5 allows for counter play and can really show skilled players on equal gear/level setting whos the boss.

Large Scale Skirmishes are slogfest; Extremely dependent on healers, CC, and GRIT (immunity to CC). The more FOC/Con builds you have; usually the better. Wombo combos are great to really lock down and kill enemies, but require coordination.

Wars
One of the biggest upsets about the game comes from Territory Rewards, No Level Scaling, Conflicting Territories frequency, Declare War Bugs, and Wars lag/server issues that occur.

No Level Scaling; This PvP should 100% be scaled to test the abilities of company v company rather than it being a GS/Level game. This game caters to the hardcore MMO player who reach max level and obtain 525+ gear, and war rosters only take those high level players because they win wars, regardless of their prowess in PvP.

Conflicting Territories; There is absolutely no consequences in attacking repeatedly. You have everything to gain in attack, and nothing to lose, while it's vice versa in defense . The fact that there is no cooldown on how fast you can put a location into conflict to go to war with it burns out the little guy on the server. This is what will kill the PvP nature of the game in a month if it hasn't already on your server . Those defending the territory who try to push back the conflict by doing pvp faction missions lose eventually because the longer a territory stays out of conflict, the faster it can be put into conflict by an enemy faction. this has been removed in 1.02 patch

Imagine the majority of your server being purple, with 5+ guilds, while your faction has 1 - 2 guilds. While you're in War with one of the guilds in a single location, the enemy faction pushes all of the other non purple territories into conflict. This is a vicious cycle that goes on forever until they take all but 1 territory. By then your defenders are exhausted because they've been warring everyday, multiple times a day. Rinse and Repeat until your entire server is one color. You now have a PvE server.

Declare War Bug;
You cannot declare war if the territory's going to have an invasion on the day the war would be;
After reaching 3 ticks of Corruption in that territory, there's a chance it will have the PvE war (invasion) which does not allow you to declare PvP war (War). It tells you usually 24 hours before the (PvE) invasion when one will happen, while the PvP War takes 48 hours to occur if pushing after the territories War Times.

An example; Say you want to push Everfall into conflict for a War on Saturday along side another territory, Restless Shore, that has the same wartime and is owned by the same guild, effectively splitting their forces. You fight for 10 hours to eventually push Everfall into Conflict. During that time, the corruption ticks reach 3 stacks in Everfall. You can no longer declare war. You do the same in Restless Shore, Invasion, you can no longer declare war. 6 hours later, the territory is no longer in conflict.

Wars lag/server issues:
War Hammer CC spam can cause game crashes/de-sync and really needs fixing. People will start to T-Pose or Black screen when enough people do it and it can make/break an attack/defense.

PvE
It's Loot core is frustrating, but dungeons are extremely beautiful. Named Epic/Rare/Legendary Loot is BoP and untrade-able while dungeons require Keys to enter take massive amounts of resources, have creation CDs, and don't guarantee any drops.

PvE Dungeon Combat; Aesthetically, it's one of the best out of all the MMOs. You can really see where they invested the time/effort when creating boss fights and arenas. Some locations look similar in certain places but still feel unique. Combat almost feels like you're playing Dark Souls if your groups average level isn't the dungeons level. My first time through Dynasty, Genesis, and Lazurus were amazing & challenging. I personally hate the maze-like layout of some of the dungeons crossing back into areas you were in, but that's me.

PvE Loot;
I think the Bind on Pickup nature of named epic/rare items in dungeons will kill a large majority of the playerbase that specifically want to PvE only.
It's extremely frustrating when so many other MMO's realize the importance of loot and offer BoP trading only in dungeons with people that were there.

All of the loot (except for legendaries) can be replaced by crafted gear, and only the legendary crafting materials you gain in dungeons are the true end-game. You could never step into a dungeon, only craft, and manage to have better gear than someone who spent all their time in dungeons and didn't craft.

At max level, all open world t5 loot is 500 GS flat, the only way to get better gear is to craft/level up your end-game dungeons/end-game quests.

Look forward to Outpost Rush if there enough people in my faction/server to 20v20.

One of the best tower defense games. It's the best "Bloons" game to date, and it's often on sale. I would recommend it if you like one of the predecessors.

Early Access Review
I wanted to wait until I had 100 hours into this game to give it a review. I wanted to have plenty of time put into it with it being an early access title. I've played mainly solo, most games like this I do, just a personal preference until I have beat the game. This game is an early access, the only bug I have ran into is an item tooltip describing what the item is. The game feels completed even though it is not. You can’t say that for a lot of early access games now a days.

Let's start off with the Building aspect this game offers. The terraforming can take a little to get used to. You can’t just dig with a pickaxe underneath the layer above, you must take it all the way down. With you not being able to dig a cave, you must dig the whole area out and build in the area if you wanted to build an underground dungeon for example. You unlock building items as you progress through the game, I like this aspect, I suggest waiting until the final tier if you plan to build fancy. While building you must add support, just like in the real world, cool concept. You must be within a certain distance of a workbench, forge, or stonecutter while building. Certain building aspects require a different crafting table.

Now let’s talk about combat. Combat in this game can be very challenging if you are under geared. You can’t go from the tier 1 zone and expect to survive in combat in the tier 3 zone. There are creatures that can 1 shot you if you are not prepared. Eat the right food for more health and have the right gear for the zone on! The boss fights I enjoyed in this game. What more can you ask, fighting a deer with chains hanging off his antlers while metal music starts playing? Mobs from one biome will fight others from another! It seems skeletons will fight any mob even if they are from the same biome. It can be a sight to roll up on some greydwarves trying to fight the skeletons It can take time to acquire the materials to craft gear sense you can’t use a teleport with ore. This means you either walk, or travel by boat.

Traveling by boat can bring a lot of great views. Watching a storm while in the middle of the ocean, a lightning bolt dancing across the sky. Shortly after being able to watch the clouds dissipating, the stars shining with a purple hue in the sky can be mesmerizing. Some people may not enjoy the graphics of the game, say it looks too old. It’s the perfect art style for this game in my opinion. The physics in this game are amazing. You chop a tree down and it factors in slop, chopping direction and wind into its fall direction. There’s rain and snow fall in the game, which can cause you to become “wet” and “freezing.”
Crafting in this game is well done for the most part. In my opinion there is a few recipes that need to be tweaked. You shouldn’t need 20 of iron bars but only a small amount of wood to craft a bow for example. Drop rates for crafting mats seem well placed except of ancient wood, my opinion, it needs to be lowered to same levels as the other “special woods.” You can plant a garden, plant trees, tame animals to have quick access to furs and meat.

After many hours of crafting, combat, building, and exploring, a game that is 1gb (Yes 1gb!) has brought me a ton of fun. Reminds me of the first times playing Minecraft or Terraria. I’ve been looking for a game to bring that feeling back.
All in all, I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys these style of games as I do! Please if you enjoyed reading this or found it inciteful upgrade this review!

I’ll see you in Valheim!

It's a bit hard in the start but after a while you learn how to ride. Really recommended if you are a speedway fan!
