The OG Resident Evil 4 was amazing, and I'm glad to say they NAILED IT with the remake too! Good job Capcom for also releasing a good PC port among the pile of bad ones that started showing up in 2023...

For some reason Amazon thought it would be a good idea to ban inactive accounts of people that actually played the game for a while, considering them bots because they didn't drop hundreds or thousands of hours into this game in the first week of launch. Everyone affected has had their steam account marked as well.

Total incompetence, they couldn't do anything to fix the bot problems when the game was at it's peak and this is the only thing they thought could be a success.

The game itself is ok and definetly worth a try at least. This sort of behaviour however does not deserve anything other than a negative review, it's the only way a company like this will understand what they did.

God of War... but with better graphics and unlocked fps.

It was worth the wait.

Yeah this ain't the fully priced AAA game I've pre-ordered chief. Does AAA even mean anything anymore?...

But seriously, I'll never understand how it has come to this mess. CD Projekt Red had huge goals for this game... or so they lied to us. Could also be they weren't doing too well economically so they had to cut down on stuff, with the pandemic and ♥♥♥♥ (even though the game got announced back in 2013 and were finally ready to give us a taste in 2018, WAY before covid-19). Or it was all just simple incompetence from a dev team that was respected by everyone in the gaming community... until now.

So far I've put 57 hours into the game, gave the quick patches a chance before a review. Game still has plenty of flaws, ranging from messing with my progression, bad optimization (I have to play around with the graphics settings to achieve good performance with RTX enabled on a RTX 3070 and 7 5800X rig), NPCs being dumb and not reacting to the player's actions properly... the enemy AI is ok-ish but could still be improved upon, especially the police that randomly teleports behind you instead of chasing you in police cars :/. And the city, oh man, can't tell how many times I felt like I was the only person on earth when NPCs would randomly disappear, transforming the so promised "immersive experience" into a ghost town. This game is anything BUT the RPG they promised us (hence the reason it ain't even classified as one anymore lol).

Here are some pros tho: -the story is pretty good, haven't finished it yet but I sure will even with all the flaws the game still has
-this game is easily one of a kind in the larger picture... if only it was done better
-combat is decent, as well as the selection of weapons and gadgets
-soundtrack is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Huh, I guess that's where all the development went.
-the game is stunning graphically speaking
-nice selection of cars and bikes, driving could use some tweaking on M&K (fun fact, you're the only one driving motorcycles in the entire city)

With all this being said, I do hope they can fix this. The game has a lot of potential still. It can easily make a comeback. But for now this isn't the 60€ experience I was promised.

Early Access Review
Borderlands + Doom + Risk of rain = awesome. A steal for it's price tag.

Just do yourself a favor and buy this game at full price. I admit I was hesitant at first... thought it was just a Dark Souls with guns type of deal... but hell no, this is the real deal. As a genre it's falls into the looter-shooter category, however not as grindy as most other titles IMHO, with the occasional big baddie. Technically, it's still inspired from the Dark Souls series, which isn't a bad thing at all btw, but it manages to stand up on it's own as a complete different title. You can either play it as a solo player or in a group with 2 more friends, difficulty scalling depending on the number of player and difficulty ofc, and yes it is fun as a solo (how I'm currently playing).
As a quick summary this game will make you: -sometimes rage (even though the game isn't as hard as Dark Souls it doesn't mean it's easy by any means)
-make you feel accomplished in life after a tough boss
-keep you playing for a long time (even if you beat the campaing, which takes quite a bit, you can basically reroll it. This game makes use of a dynamically-generated campaign. That means environments, dungeons and encounters will always be different for everyone right from the start of the game. Sometimes you migth not even fight a certain boss or visit a certain area like you used to in your first run. You also keep your whole character progress.
-experience what a great dev team Gunfire Games is, always in touch with their community and feedback. They truly deserve the full price tag!

One of the best f2p experiences ever with amazing developers that actually listen to their playerbase.

This game is just fantastic since the NEXT update released. Everything has been improved upon. And, as of this date of writing this review until 6th of August, the game is still on sale for -50% for those intrested. Even if you don't really find it appealing to you, you can always just ask for a refund if you didn't reach over 2 hours in-game. But once you try it out and understand the basics of it, I think you'll just get hooked up like I did xD.

Edit: I'm seriously stunned, amazed at how well Hello Games, a indie company, managed to redeem themselves from all the lies at release... First NEXT and now Beyond. Sure, Beyond might have been released with a few bugs but at least (unlike other shady companies) they keep squishing them day after day not just in one big monthly update. Bigger companies should really take notes... THIS is how you save a game: passion.

Edit #2: The game is now where it was supposed to be at launch with the Origins update. If you got hyped the first time seeing that astonishing reveal trailer then this is the right time to start or get back into the game. Sean Murray delivered.

Bought this game thinking :"Meh , I don't think I'll play it a lot but since it's on sale..."
After finishing the game : "Looks like I'm addicted."

With all this said, yes. I recommend this beautiful game.

Edit: Gosh darn, next gen upgrade looking spicy.
