one of the most disappointing games ive ever played. really enjoyed ds1 and ds3 and ds2 was worse but not awful. this game is just boring, combat is very very repetitive and lame, especially in boss fights. the number of minibosses and especially the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ environments they exist in where you get sniped by other ♥♥♥♥♥ walking around is insane. you can cheese pretty much everything but where is the fun in just abusing the game. instead of making a challenging game you want to complete, its just a hard game you dont want to play anymore after a while. no matter how many attempts at bosses, once you beat it you feel no relief or happiness, just dread at dealing with the next dumb area.
so many extra bits and bobs are added to the game, like skills and attachments but almost all of them are close to worthless and do very little to improve the game or enjoyment. hitboxes are sometimes buggy and the red warning is retarded: you will see it 5 times running through a pack of minor enemies and take little damage or see it vs a miniboss and be 1 shot. some areas feel like no one play tested them, like not being able to jump up a cliff at certain angles or putting your sword away and slowing down.

Game started well but is mad repetitive, has little reward, simple and annoying. All enemies have the same attack patterns, which you realise very quickly and makes all enemies just a dumb obstacle that drains weapon durability. The shark is also just annoying and a time waste. The story is just a reason to go to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ island that is drawn out and uninteresting once you land. Resources just disappear too fast and you just wait to pick up stuff on the sea. Your tools become the best version possible after a couple of islands, so there is no progression or anything to actually build towards.

Just a boring, overhyped game that doesn't change and gets boring fast. Don't recommend, even with a co op partner like I had.
