Like most paradox games, it seems so incredibly complicated at first. It seems overwhelming and makes you feel like you could never understand it. I've played for 2,600 hours so far and I'm still learning things. But, my determination to build bigger, more powerful and more stable empires is what keeps me coming back. Of all the paradox historical map games, this one is my favourite.

I can't say I don't recommend this game. I'm sure there is much more to this game as the other reviews imply, but here's the deal for me:

(I'm comparing this game to Shadow of Chernobyl, the predecessor, which I have played to completion several times.)

In Call of Pripyat, I feel exceptionally aimless. In Shadow of Chernobyl, there was always an imminent goal, always something to occupy myself. Whether it was just trying to make it past the military, working with Duty or Freedom, or just searching for stashes, I always had something to do, and I never felt directionless. I do in Call of Pripyat. I don't know quite why, maybe It's because the side-missions are uninteresting and (in the Ecologists case, uninteresting and exceptionally frustrating.) or maybe it's the main quest of finding crash sites not inspiring any sense of excitement.

Next isn't a problem specific to pripyat, but to STALKER games in general. The PDA is atrocious. Considering this is your main interface for quests and navigation, that's a problem. It took me hours to wrap my head around how it worked in Shadow of Chernobyl, and it's still difficult to use in Pripyat.

Lastly, I really don't like how bullet spongy the mutants are in this game. Most humans can be eliminated with 5 or less 5.45 rounds to the head, but mutants like Fleshpigs for instance can soak up several 12 Gauge buckshot rounds to the face.
I get it, they're mutants with tough skin, that's fine, but the same is true for Snorks. I never really understood why they made even the heavily armoured humans weaker than the average Snork.

I don't want to make this seem like I hate or even dislike this game, because I don't, I do in fact think it can be enjoyable. The world of STALKER is fascinating, the factions are all interesting, the gunplay is acceptable, and I think the AI can make some pretty cinematic firefights when they skirmish with Zombified Stalkers or other Opposing factions. I do recommend this game, but bear in mind that it is not for everyone.

Karate chop rebels in half. Vaporize rebels with the AR2's alt-fire. Trap rebels in quicksand. Crush rebels in the trash compactor. Liquefy rebels in a vat of acid. Eat rebels. Dissect rebels. Drown rebels in modified phytoplankton. Stomp rebel skulls with steel toed boots. Cremate rebels in the oven. Lobotomize rebels. Mandatory beating quotas for rebels. Grind vortigaunts in the garbage disposal. Feed rebels to the Gonome. Shoot rebels in the head with an MP7. Kick old rebels down the stairs. Feed rebels to zombies. Smack rebels with a stunstick.

The game came out a decade ago and is no longer receiving DLC.

Why is it still €60?

Still, a great game, no doubt.

Genuinely one of the most fascinating and enjoyable zombie survival experiences I've ever played. I can easily see myself playing this for over 1000 hours. This is how good games are made, by bright, talented individuals who pour everything into their work. If you like DayZ, like me, but have troubles with performance or simply want to experience a zombie survival game ALONE in singleplayer, this is absolutely where you should look.

Despite this being an indie game, the game itself is extremely stable. Whenever something goes wrong, it's always (95% of the time) YOUR fault.

I thought I would be absolutely smashed by the difficulty, but you can customize your games to extreme detail. and with mods you can go even further.

Metro 2033 Redux changes much of the original game in order to line up visually with Last Light. In doing so, I feel that it sacrifices a great deal of aesthetic charm.

Worst ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DLC ever made. What ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots thought this was fun or enjoyable at all? What idiots thought this was a good idea? You play as a woman in the middle ages, running around being worthless. Doing fetch quests like searching for marigolds in pitch black darkness, all to show you what you already know happened. It's bugged too, do not, I repeat, DO NOT help that injured guy walk to the edge of the city. The game will freeze. No, this hasn't been patched. It is currently February 13th 2023, literally 4 years after this unholy anal excretion of a DLC was made. This entire ""DLC"" could have (and would have) been better if it was literally just a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cutscenes. Nobody wants to play as a helpless character, let alone one that canonically gets raped to death by tartars if you die.

Abandoned game. Don't expect anything more than a prologue.

The developer "Redamz" has worked on this game for a decade, and was more than happy to toss the occasional bone to his hundreds of Patreon supporters, however, once his Patreon was shut down, he no longer felt that he had any commitments to the people who funded his destructive, wasteful lifestyle.

If you are a fan of Yandere Dev's antics, Redamz isn't too far from him. He spent all of his money which he promised would go towards the development of his title on Genshin Impact.

I feel sorry for those who were literally scammed by this project.

Anyways, aside from the developer being an idiot, the game itself isn't bad. For a PORN game.

I have known since the Patreon was shut down that development was cancelled. Redamz was silent on MGI, but more than happy to respond to his sycophants in his discord server.

I don't recommend this simply based on the fact that the title implies that there is more to come, when in fact there is absolutely nothing more to come.

Currently, Redamz is focused on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, sfw RPG maker visual novel that nobody asked for (let alone PAID, upwards of thousands of dollars for) which he will no doubt sell a few copies of, take the money and spend it on Genshin Impact while ignoring his paying customers.
