Great game! They reverted the PSN account choice luckily, because we Helldivers unite to fight for the same goal! (Was this a social experiment?)

I have always enjoyed this game, especially its Mortal Empires campaign. It's massive, offers a lot of moddability and allows you to play many different factions with interesting mechanics. FOR THE LADY!

I have been looking for a long time for a game like this and there it is!

Medieval Kingdom Wars offers a truly interesting experiencing by letting the player engage in different activities such as building up fortified and economically strong cities and hamlets and fighting battles and sieges. Diplomacy is also present, with very simple mechanics to climb the political ladder, win the favour of your king and create rivalries with other factions.

First things first, the tutorial:
The tutorial had me laughing, not in a negative way, but because of the funny comments and jokes of your Marshal.
He will explain many important aspects of the game to you, such as formations, choke points utilization etc. so don't skip the tutorial! Moreover, you will get to understand the basics of a game which has chosen really unique mechanics and gameplay.

About the sieges:
I am all about sieges and they are very well represented in Medieval Kingdom Wars.
The sieges are very close to what they actually used to be. You are not going to fight in a Total War format, by just throwing units at the enemy fortifications without the possibility for both of the armies to replenish forces.
You will set up a siege camp that you can fortify and in which you are going to be able to recruit new forces to assault the enemy. If you are the attacker, then you will end the siege and retreat as soon as you reach 0 money. When the enemy attacks you, there will be a time limit within which the enemy has to conquer your main flag before retreating.
Fortifications with weapons mounted on walls, siege units, traps: there will be many things to think about and which you can use to your advantage.

The city-building:
Building up a city can become repetitive, but the different maps and wall layouts will be still fun enough to keep you going.
Building placement will determine how fast you can get troops from point A to point B so it will make sense to position buildings in a way that you can always have soldiers to send out to fight, but without losing important production buildings such as barns and mines.
The city layout of many cities is based off the historical layout, so that's a big positive aspect which will entice history fans.

I will keep updating this review as I continue my immersion in this wonderful game.
