Protagonist has a weird fetish off just watching people beat his ass or killing his friends and not even taking his weapon out. Pretty fun besides that

Good variety of character builds and challenging encounters. Recommend the enemy randomiser mod for extra spice.
You get 30-60h content for a first campaign depending on pace and exploration.

honestly the gameplay is good but the state of multiplayer is unacceptable. delay on damage, ghost spells, random teleporting and glitches that cause restarts because there's no Unstuck option, Invisible ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanics in bossfights for 1 or several players. i may update the review in the future but at the moment it's ONLY worth it for strictly singleplayer.

I ONLY HAD TO RE-BIND ONE BUTTON ON MOUSE/KB! SUCK IT DARK SOULS

But for real, just give bosses more hp, the AI companions in this game are MONSTERS.

Good game but could really use more weapon/armor variety as majority of loot is just rings. Also buff all meele base damage, the damage is terrible considering the danger you put yourself in to meele, every weapon could have 2x base damage and meele would still mostly not get touched :(

Early Access Review
i Hit G rank in both CBT and LIVE as i happen to have a lot of time to play, and in the current game state i genuinely don't recommend anyone to play kurtzpel.
TLDR: The game is focused on pvp, which is barely functional with the potato-tier servers and constant bugs and glitches, weapon balance is a literal meme and one of the 2 game modes you're forced to play is broken on a fundamental level to the point where the developers themselves want to *rework* it.

Long Version:
-The early access is way too apparent in the game with constant bugs, glitches, fast falling, lag, desync, scuffed animations and a bunch of other game-breaking interactions. It's neigh unplayable in serious pvp and even without the game issues balancing is it's own clown fiesta, Fists is neigh unplayable, staff suffers from bad stat distribution which leaves sword/bow as the optimal combination everyone and their mother runs, they're the most over-tuned weapons by default and their 2nd ultimates turn the fight into a single player game.
-Deathmatch may as well just be bow-match until someone gets to close and decide to spam WW LMB on sword instead. CTF is even worse, the maps favour sword launch spam to such an extreme that most games devolve into 4 people spamming WW LMB-Fortitude-Storm Slashes on the flag until one team dies/falls/glitches out and they grab the flag, the game than turns into tag instead of pvp followed by near-impossible comeback because spawn times are so short people can bring flag to their spawn and die with it, only to respawn and stop the enemy themselves.
- PVE is fine but gets boring quickly and Grand chase boses are just massive damage sponges. the only way this game succeeds currently is in the art style/costumes, which also happens to be very limited, with only around 8 weapons skins for each weapon and +-5 choices for accesories. The devs have a lot of work to do before this game is worth playing.

Edit: 7/30/2019
A lot of updates and promises later the state of the game remains below playable standards, sword got some balancing hits and fist has gotten popular now but the lagfest games are still the same, the game still revolves around running like headless chickens and fishing for a catch, be that with instant chase/reckless on fist or ww lmb on sword, these catches than extend into 100-0 combos where your only saving grace is hoping your teammate will save you, which is nearly impossible against swords fortify+storm slash or great retaliation -> continue on fists, people can still alt-tab mid combos to drop to the floor and abuse every bug they can find, running for timeouts is too effective and all we've really gotten so far are promises for more content, and little to no information on fixing the content already in the game. I suggest giving this game another few months.

Let me start by pointing out this is a "niche" game, it won't appeal to everybody but it has its charm.

+The game has an incredible Skill-over-gear combat system and anybody who has experience with games such as Dragon Nest, Vindictus, Elsword or even dark souls will feel right at home here.

+It looks great and is not resource intensive, although i would not recommend playing it with minimum requirements, i run a gtx 660TI and intel i5 760 2.8GHZ processor and drop to 25 fps frequently during 4 man dungeons.

+There is no *Gear treadmill* in the game at the moment, aquiring end game gear is easy and not very RNG dependant. The economy is still fresh and now is a great time to hop aboard.

+Gearing is straightforward with only 2 effective rarities and no complicated min-maxing necessary while still having enough depth with Preferred stat rolls and quality to satisfy those who want their pretty numbers.

+Every character plays very differently and have their own uses, there is no *Tank* or *Healer* but they all excel in different areas except Haru, who is a jack of all trades.

+The energy system is talked down a lot but it's not as bad as people make it seem, you can easily hit max level in under 2 weeks with casual play, or 4/5 days if you're willing to pay and grind your heart out. I want to note that you get a free 100 energy capsule and 30 energy mat every day in the cash shop, effectively giving you 330 energy/day.

Now onto what's keeping this game from down.

-The energy system is still there and there's absolutely no reason for that to be the case.

-Inventory space can be limited if you hold on to a ton of crap you don't need/ don't manage your space at all.

-The game is without a doubt *Pay to be OP* even with break protection gear can only be enchanted +- 25times(wtf?) before requiring a premium item to reset. You will generally NOT aquire +8/+9 gear without turning into a whale, with that said there is no content in the game that requires anything resembling a +8/9 set, Good on you whales.

-The cashop prices are pretty high, and while you can buy cosmetics for in game gold this also allows effective *Gold buying* with real cash, how you feel about that is up to you, there's isn't all that much variety in costumes and hairs etc at the moment either.

-The difficulty borders on insanity , especially between levels 1-30 (It gets easier later) while this was a big draw for me i can see some people, especially those new to action combat be crippled by this, and while the auto-team function is fantastic at finding groups for Manic(Highest difficulty) dungeons, "Getting Gud" is the only real solution here.

-There is no decent tutorial in the game , and huge systems get practically swiped aside. Brooches in costumes, importance of grutin coins and the Akasha card system all come to mind. This information is out there if you look for it, but it's not in game!

Bonus: Game forges chat censoring system is downright Hilarious.
All in all i've had a great time and the community has been pleasant and helpfull, likely due to how much the game encourages co-op play. Give it a shot, join a guild, talk to people, you may find a hidden gem here.
