My brain has been annihilated and I'm only 6 hours in. Bought in the sale at ~£9, is it worth full price? Absolutely, best played as a duo in my opinion but I'm sure the solo challenge would be just as fun.

One of the best fast paced, objective focused FPS games to come to market in recent years. Game offers cosmetic micro-transactions through a rotating store and a battle pass, similar to Fortnite. Gameplay feels extremely balanced, you have three classes to choose from and a range of weapons, can seem quite hectic at times but the pace is just on another level and it's really refreshing.

Be prepared to work as a team because it's impossible to solo, unless you're ridiculous, then you may... MAY stand a chance.

Early Access Review
When this game first released the prologue, I was in two minds as it just didn't feel great, janky movements amongst a lot of bugs BUT, after taking a jump and trying out the released game, I am currently 14 hours in to a co-op play-through and enjoying every second. Once you get up to pace with the game, you get sucked in, the level of difficulty is absolutely perfect, ingredients pour/combine to a set amount, unlike other simulators like Cooking Simulator where you can pour too much of 'x' liquid. It gives you both a simulator feel but also a arcade type feel too which I think this genre lacks.

All in all, I have high hopes for further content as the Developer seems really keen and excited by the support they're receiving through the discord. If you were thinking of giving it a try, do it, it might have its bugs here and there but for the size of the development team, I'm impressed.

The Cities Skylines franchise will always be a marvel as far as city building games go. A lot of the negative reviews are coming from people who have an excess of 500+ hours in the first game that has countless dlc's and a lot more content in general than this game in its current state, that doesn't make it a bad game though.

As for someone who has played both, I get it, it does have its downfalls and things could have been worked on prior to its release but, as a developer, they fell behind on their schedule and more than likely had too much pressure from the community to release it and took the chance of an early release so they wouldn't lose part of their player base, a gamble that unfortunately hasn't paid off.

The game offers a fresh new look to the franchise, albeit not very optimised (atm), that doesn't mean it's not stable, I've had no crashes at all within the game and after 50 hours, I think that's pretty good going.

I do believe that the developers will continue to work on the game and give the community the game they deserve, just give them some time and some good feedback that they can use and work with.

tl;dr

Game could be better, visually improved, feels like it flows better than the first game but does require more content to really be up there on the same level as the first.

Edit: Just purchased a 4080 Super and I'm able to run every game on ultra/max with fps well over 140 on a 2k res, this game gave me back 30 fps. I get the negativity now, the game needs stabilised graphically before you should continue with a purchase, unless you can deal with the low framerate.

The concept of this game was and still is brilliant. It's a real shame the original developers didn't eventually come back around to work on a APB 2, the game when I last played was very dated to say the least and there is a plentiful amount of people using cheats.

The movement and play style of this game is unparalleled to anything I've ever played before and a remake would be an absolute dream, they put so much effort into making this game different and it's a real shame to see it in its current state.

Hopefully a '2' gets developed but I'm not holding out for it and I won't return to the original game. If you've never played before, I suggest going into it with a mindset of just exploring the game and how what it's like, I wouldn't recommend queuing up for a game/match because you'll just end up getting stomped by JohnnyAimbot and his three disciples and uninstall.

You can't run the public over, unrealistic, ruins the game.

Farming side of it is good though.

This game is not worth the hassle of the mental instability it will give you, the player base has zero consistency and the community is about as toxic as having detergent pods as your diet. It infuriates me that I've invested so much of my time into learning new mechanics for them to prove totally pointless when your teammates of equal rank still feel the need to carry the ball by themselves from one side of the field to the other for minutes upon minutes while you sit back and wait for them to realise that they actually have a teammate. Countless times I have switched my quick chats to provide better contact to my teammates before kick-off and throughout the match, i.e passing, on your left/right, all yours... all of these should give a clear indication to a teammate to help them judge your next move, but even those render useless as history just repeats itself and you just watch them play by themselves. I thought moving up into Champ would be the holy grail of finally getting somewhere in this game competitively but I was and continue to be proven wrong, which has lead me to this review/rant, at this point, the game sits uninstalled and I refuse to return.

Edit: Left it a week, tried again, waste of time, bad game to me. o7

Voxel Tycoon Review

I've been waiting for a modern contender to Transport Tycoon for over 15 years now and well, it's here. This game although still without air and sea transport types and just coming into Early Access, is still an absolute must-have. Having played 2 hours of the game so far, I felt sucked in to what can be an infinite landscape of transport and manufacturing.

Much like Rise of Industry, Voxel Tycoon takes the same 'Research' approach to unlocking new paths within the game which I personally thought was a great thing in RoI and implemented within this game just makes for the icing on the cake.

Minor things that I've found so far within my game time is the placement of roads and rails can be slightly fiddly but that may just be me as I was so used to clicking different direction rails when it came to playing Transport Tycoon.

I'll do my best to update this review as I delve into some more game-play but as of right now, would I recommend people to buy it? Definitely. The developers have put in a lot of effort and still push forward fast for more content so it's super exciting to be a part of this Early Access and look forward to see what updates they have in store next.

tl;dr - Modern Transport Tycoon / OpenTTD mixed with Rise of Industry... BUY IT!

Buy this game for the character creation alone, but, once you've spent 30 minutes creating V, don't forget to make sure that you have the right voice selected, Male V with Female V voice is both funny and horrifying.

Stormworks, this game is nothing short of amazing and a must-play if you are into spending hours building a single vehicle.

I'll start off this review with how things started. I bought this game alongside a friend as we planned to play online co-op missions after watching videos of the game online, thirty minutes into purchase, the online co-op was really choppy and unplayable, at this point, we almost refunded, but, after tweaking a few issue on our end, all hope was restored and we went on to play the game, the same day... for 11 hours straight.

This game will suck you in, endless missions popping up around the map, tow missions, crash missions, refueling missions are the few I've seen so far but there is a lot more. The most fun part about this game is the creation of vehicles, you can be simple, make a boat hull, fit an engine, connect it up, your away or you can download something from the workshop... then there is the next option, build it from scratch. To build the perfect boat from scratch or land vehicle, your easily looking over 20 hours if you are new, this game is far from "dumping a pre-made engine in and away you go", the best way to describe the customisation of this game is you basically create the vehicles ECU from scratch (if you want to).

No matter what, you'll get stuck, somewhere down the line, you will find problems with your vehicle, don't give up, there is loads of tutorials, guides and pre-made parts to get yourself moving and into the missions, all I ask is, appreciate the game and the developers for actually thinking of implementing the problem that you've encountered.

All in all, Stormworks is a game that I was reluctant to buy, but glad I did in the end.

Gameplay 8/10
Graphics 9/10
Sound 8/10
