Simply put its not ready, New Patch has made a difference but its not enough. If you want an early access Paradox game this is the game for you.

Not a great game to play solo. Would probably be a lot of fun if you had a group of 15+ people to play with.

Paradox have come out and adressed prising

I don't even know what they tought was worth the money here. 4 Focus trees that are worse than most mod ones you can get for free.
