Hidden gem. Didn't know I had this game. Perfect for relaxing couch co-op.

Pretty neat how every single NPC has their own little story and relationships. Also really like how every interaction/altercation you have with an NPC is remembered. Saw an NPC being beat up by an officer & was gonna help him, but then saw the note on his profile saying he previously assaulted one of my other characters so I was like nah pal I'm not helpin' you.

Graphics are sub-par and buggy though, wouldn't pay full price for this game. Currently racked up 24 hours of playtime after only having the game for 5 days so I'm clearly enjoying it a fair amount; definitely recommended on sale.

The combat is addictive and the dialogue/theme is hilarious. This game is an absolute delight to play and I can see myself putting a good amount of hours into it in the future.

This story will stick with me. Tragic, morbid, beautiful.

The spiritual successor to Dead Island. One of the best "zombie" games out there. The story isn't very compelling but most people play Dying Light for the super fun parkour and zombie killing. Absolutely worth buying, even at full price.

Best parts:
- the parkour
- the combat vs zombies
- weapon crafting/modification
- exploration
- at least 100 hours of content (not including the bonus legend ranks)

Worst parts:
- the combat vs humans
- mediocre story
- horrendously clunky scrolling crafting menu

Noteworthy info:
- there are a couple of (paid) DLC weapons that are a bit overpowered compared to base game but they don't cost much and you don't need them to succeed
- some outfits have special abilities, be sure to check those out when deciding which one to wear
- you can get special in-game weapon blueprints for free at techlandgg.com by linking your steam account and doing the quests
- there is a mobile app you can play that gives you in-game materials (even king mods)
- do not set your play session to online unless you want players to invade you as the Night Hunter
- you can change the difficulty by hitting "Play" (not continue) and click advanced. The difficulty option won't appear if you have one of the DLC quarantine zones selected as active mission. Simply load in and change it to the Stuffed Turtle quarantine zone and that will fix it.
- you cannot buy ammo from vendors in "Hard" difficulty, only in normal and nightmare
- look up guides for the Harran Prison. It isn't super difficult with practice and can yield tons of gold tier weapons and king mods. I recommend doing it on at least Hard difficulty to have enough time to loot the rewards.

Now's the time to play this game. Hundreds if not thousands of hours of content, no joke. Really fun with friends as well.

This game is amazing!!! It's got aspects of survival, exploration, base building, mining resources, generating and managing power usage, and organisation. But maybe the best thing about it is that it's so relaxing. The atmospheric sounds reduce stress and anxiety. The sound design is absolute perfection. Sometimes I stream the game to my friends, so they can de-stress after a long day.

Even after completing the game, there is still so much to do. I'm working towards unlocking all the achievements so I can get the gold suit, and I'm having so much fun doing it. The jet packs are a godsend, I freaking love flying!!

What an adorable game! It's very engaging so you almost never get bored. Very similar to Stardew Valley. You can get a lot out of this game if that's what you're looking for.

Yes, it's much better than it used to be... but is it worth buying at this point in time? Maybe. That depends on what you're trying to get out of it. The combat is still clunky in my opinion, but the game does well in terms of base building and farming/scavenging resources. This game has a lot of downsides, but it scratches an itch that no other game can.

I generally agree with what most people have to say about their experiences with this game, both positive and negative. I'll leave this review as "recommended" but keep in mind, my actual opinion is neither.
