Combat is a very boring as you really just spam click on zombies/people until they die. Characters are uninspiring at best and the dialogue/story is complete trash. CO-OP is so buggy it is in many ways unplayable even after the patch. Feels like a polished turd, real step back from the first game

Really wasn't sure what the expect going into this game. After I received it as a gift from a friend, I peeked at the store page and saw the trailer. Another 2D RPG with puzzles? Didn't seem special. My friend emphasized how cool it was that every decision you make affects what happens in the future, but it didn't seem groundbreaking to me. I decided it was worth a go, because why not?

Holy ♥♥♥♥ this game was an emotional rollercoaster. I didn't think it was possible to get attached to these simple pixelated monsters that pop up and cook spaghetti, but damn this game did a good job. I was fixated to my seat every step of the journey, and I loved every second of it. The music, the breadth of the characters unique personalities, the puzzles, the dank memes, it was a beautiful combination. I didn't think it was possible to stay hooked to a game that at a glance appeared repetitive, but it turned out to be so much more.

$10 isn't even close to the value that I got out of this game, it was quite the experience!

A poorly made game that was released as a finished game, while lacking any real bug fixes from it's Alpha/Beta phases. I was very excited to pick it up, but after having played it throughout it's development I am personally dissapointed with it. I went in knowing that it was nothing like the modern FPS games, and that it was supposed to have a strategic depth to it, but it still did not manage to meet my expectations.

Pros:
+Unique warfare simulation that you won't find in most FPS games
+Variety of vehicles and guns to choose from
+Numerous gamemodes available, with modding support for the community
+MASSIVE maps

Cons:
-Ridiculously buggy. Every gamemode I've played is riddled with bugs, some of which are gamebreaking. Most of these have persisted throughout the Beta/Alpha stages and have not been fixed in the release.
-Unoptimized. I sometimes get a meager 20-30 FPS on the lowest settings. I have a high-end gaming rig that is able to play next-gen games at 60+ FPS, and I can barely run this. Sometimes it's bareable, but more often then not it's unplayable.
-Single player is very lacking at the moment. The AI is the worst I've seen in any of the games I've played.

All in all, I would NOT recommend the game. If it was still in an early Alpha stage with hope of fixing the immense amount of bugs, I'd happily recommend it. It had alot of potential that was ruined by bugs that were not fixed. Considering the fact that they have persisted throughout the games developement, I doubt they will be fixed.

Probably one of the most brutal newbie transitions I've ever experienced, but after getting into the flow of the game it's undoubtedly the #1 RTS on the market right now. The strategic depth and scale of the battles that take place are breath taking. Although GPG is dead, the FA saga lives on in FAF which is a community dedicated to FA. If you're interested in a challenging, but undoubtedly great game I'd highly recommend getting Forged Alliance and then heading over to Forged Alliance Forever.
